Scooby Doo in Beds Where are you
#1
Whilst driving my pride and joy to and from uni, its nice to see other Scoobies giving me the nod, everyone seems so friendly. Does anyone have any meetings in the beds / bucks area. It would be cool to learn some more about my car...

Im not far from Clophill either, over in er.. 'sunny' letchworth hehe
It's supposed to be satanic becuase it's the only church in england facing backwards, at halloween you used to get all sorts of freak's down there, but the police block it off now!
Cheers
Dave

Mark,
I have heard lots of variations around pretty much the same theme:
1) That the church was knocked down because it was built facing the wrong way.
2) The church was knocked down because the clergymen had switched sides and were practicing black magic and devil worshipping!
3) The church was knocked down because sightings of ghosts became too frequent an affair, a ghost of a maid in particular who had commited suicide.
You will find all the tombstones have been dug up and replaced in all sorts of strange patterns and the inside of the church is blackened from the burnt out fires of chant groups. Animal sacrifices are frequent there, or at least used to be. In my youth we often ventured up there, only to come back down faster than Carl Lewis after coming face to face with satanic/gothic groups like those from the film The Crow. Really was very frightening stuff! Even the wildlife in the area, horses specifically, have adopted this supernatural, almost evil, pale ghostly look about them.
The Police closed the area off for a few years running during Halloween the fruitcakes used to flock there from across the UK in gothic attire to chant evil spirits.
How about a Scooby meet there, who's up for it?

The church ins't the only spooky bit to the village.
Many years ago I went to the ruins of the castle where I came across "bits" of animals, mainly heads (included a swans head).
There are also quite a few unusual suicides over the years and just up the road was the scene of the Hanratty murder.
Yiiiiiikes Shaggy . Not even a Scooby snack will get me there again.

Excuse me but are you serious how the hell can you A) build a church facing the wrong way B) Build a church Backward what difference does it make which way round it is built or facing, I had no Idea that the christain religion dictated that it's churches where built facing a certain way, I thought that rubbish was left to the Muslim religion
