Over the weekend I did my annual bulb inspection, just to check all were working.

Anyway, got to the rear fogs and found only 1 working.

After a thorough inspection I discovered that although there's space for a foglight on either side, only 1 side has any wiring going to it!!

Probably explains why only 1 was working

Odd though, tempted to get the old soldering iron out and wire up the other one

I'm not sure about the UK, but in Ireland, its illegal for new cars to have two rear fog lights. (I think!)

Not so in the UK, I'm sure. Vast numbers of mass-market cars all have two.

What's your car Paul? I'll have to check my MY2000 now!

I'll go along with Bobn3 - *new* cars only have 1 fog light to stop them looking like brake lights, but most cars from the last few years still have two.

I don't know when the rules changed (if they did!).

What about a new law to stop people turning them on ( esp at front.)

I may be wrong but in the UK , you can get fined up to 400pounds if caught with front fogs on when not foggy ?

 

It is only a legal requirement to have 1 rear fog light on a car, must be offside, all UK Imprezas only have one unless the owner has wired the other in, none of the Jap imports have fogs when they come over.

I thought it was £2500 fine for front fogs. But that must to be included in the price of all Saxo's and BMW's .
