ScottishM,
If you zip over to the members gallery and view the thread "Wacky B's STI7 - Awsome Beast", you can see what I have done so far. Alterations are a personal thing, most like it, some don't (no worries there). Have had a 100 percent positive hit from everyone who has seen the car in the metal.
Just added the ice install yesterday, based around Alpine's superb 7998R head unit. Junked everything & started again.
Today I had the Wax Wizard weave his magic over the car.
Its done for now. My wallet needs a serious rest before she indoors finds out...

Scoobycar not quite what you expect it sounds better than it is but still better than putting the control unit in glovebox. Its a cupboard single din unit with a flip down front. I just stuck the control unit into top of cupboard unit so when I want to play with it (hehe) I can flip down and have some fun. The new style with night illumination on the control unit is pretty dogs danglies stuff. Boyz and their toyz lol.
Sorry no pics yet, must get round to doing that.

What does the colour coded front sports grill look like.
Also is it just me or is the *** of the STI7 not crying out for a deeper rear bumper spoiler. Mines sits slightly elevated on the drive and I cant help thinking I want to add something there.

Mine:
1) Nothing!
Played around with tyre pressures, and found that 34 front, 32 rear seems to work best for me, giving a good compromise between turn-in response, grip and ride quality. The car starts to get very twitchy under power if you have the pressures much higher.
Was waiting for the price of the PPP to be announced, before deciding what to do next (if anything).

ScottishM,
Thanks. I agree with John on the tyre pressures, I run mine the same.
Good to check the pressures once weekly from cold. Also gives the opportunity to ensure that the tyres themselves are ok. Been caught out a couple of times on the previous car, eg by not looking at the tyres all winter and come the spring, finding they are shot & illegal.

I have thought of a name for your new place: The Gallows, inspired by the timber around the front door. I see it has got PPP already - Planks Planks and Planks
Alan
PS Now I know why my insurance premium is rising!

Basically by wedging spaces (used 0,75cm nuts) under the intercooler mounts left and right it tilts the intercooler about 5 Degrees towards the front of the car for more direct exposure to oncoming air. A bit like making the top mount closer to a front mount. This mod is popular in Australia with the old shape car. They noticed the new shape comes with a bigger tilt towards the front which apparently improves intercooler efficiency by up to 90% for a 12 Degrees tilt. So they tried it with the old shape and it reduced intake temperatures after the intercooler. I still want to take my car to the track for a test it and perhaps also get some gauges to measures temperatures. I think the real difference will be felt in our summer which is not too far off. We have a hot climate and any mod that reduces air intake temperatures which requires two nuts and 10 minutes work, then I am game!
I can email digital photo's directly to anyone interested of the difference in angle of the intercooler. Just drop me an email direct to ifarm@mweb.co.za
