best way to get off the line?

Handbrake on. Loads of revs. Handbrake off. Don't do it too often.

The safer option is just to floor it.

hey since my parents were being evil and all they would not buy me the manual 2001 impreza 2.5 rs sedan
so im stuck with a automatic

any ideas on how to get off the line quickly without screwing over the tranny/brakes

i know alot of people will flame me for having an auto or won't have any ideas b/c they drive stick but if anyone does

Look at the button in the top right, called "Search Scoobynet"

Sorry to hear that you didn't get bought a manual. It's a hard life

If you're subscribed to IWOC there's been a fair few discussions about how to get the MY02 WRX automatic off the line, and it involves the brake and quite a few revs...

I have an auto (not impreza) and I find the best way is simply to plant the throttle

ummm i blame it on the small print and um the fact that i didn't look in the upper RIGHT hand courner....

I know the feeling Jerome me little MY00 ppp'd car is still quick even though im bogging me turbo down (13.93) 1/4 mile!!

guess ill forget the whole reving before take off
don't want to damage car...i plan to have it for quite a while

although the other day i took a U turn at like 40 b/c i was getting pissed at some drivers and id have to say it handled rather well considering ive never been to a track or tried anything like that before
