Question

Just got a few quotes together today for another years insurance. We live in Poole, I'm 40, she's 30. Got full protected NCB. Best quote so far is £584. Any ideas. I've got an MY98 UK turbo.

Thumbs up

Hi Dave,
Glad to be back? I found A-Plan to be the cheapest for me, try them on 0845 071 1234 and ask for Lee or Tim. 27 on a 97R STI with tracking device and cat1, parked on a drive for £750. I would have thought the more mature
driver should be able to get it down below £500!
Have a look at Pual Gander's website with the insurance survey.

Try the Halifax on 0800 200370.

Me and wife £450. I'm 41 she's 34 (you're an even bigger cradle snatcher than me!)

No drivers under 30 for this type of car. I only have the quickshift mod. 10% discount for Thatcham Cat1 alarm, they need to know which one, they have a list.

Dave,

Who have you tried so far and what sort of quotes are you getting.
My insurance is up for renewal soon and as a fellow Poole resident your investigations could be helpful for me.

(just tried the autoquote thing on the Autotrader website - cheapest there was nearly £900!! Then I realised they must be joking because I then tried my wife's punto and it came up with nearly £500. Eagle Star's web site came up with £288!!)

Try Direct Line. I have just insured my RB5 for £996 fully comp, class one business, 20k miles per year.

This may sound steep, but I am 24!! with 6 years no claims, no accidents etc. This was £500 cheaper than anyone else. It may well be worth a call.

Wink

Best so far is £568 from OPI thats with £400 excess. Then £581 from Priviledge, again £400 excess. Next £584 from Bennetts Elite with £350 excess. I got all these from the back pages of Top Marques. I haven't had my renewal notice from Hyperformance, who I used last year through a guy named Joe Gautier in Bournemouth, tel 07000 560651. He got me the best deal going at the time so perhaps he'll come up with the goods again. I'll keep you posted.
