Just fitted an HKS SSQV to my Scoob today, it sounds sweet and I carnt stop grinning!! One thing tho' when I put my foot down hard when I lift off I can hear the dump valve blow off but then that is followed by the rally car sound. Is this the wastegate chatter???? Also I was wondering that now I have a vent to atmosphere dump valve will I be able to get flames out of the exhaust???

Spec so far :-

98 STi4, HKS Hiper Ti Exhaust system with HKS Downpipe, K&N Cone filter and a HKS SSQV.

 

It's amazing how many people get this wrong. If it's wastegate chatter, then your turbo's knackered.

The sound you hear is the air being chopped up by the blades as it rushes back into the turbo.

And yes, it sounds the t1ts!

 

So your car sounds like "PtshhhhhhhhhhhChatter" ?

Oh and you should certainly be getting loads of pops and bangs from the exhaust & maybe a little flame or two if you get it hot enough
