In memory of my brother Nick, who died this weekend aged 22

My condolences as well. R.I.P.
Went to the Fishermans Inn as a mark of respect for Nick Wild last night, "What a great bunch of lads". Never met any of them before but were made very welcome. Didn't have the nerve to actually speak to Rich Wild, as I wouldn't have been able to find the words to express how sorry we all are.
Mellow me really think your Karaoke skills need improving (probably like my spelling. Paul you dark horse, good rendition of Mustang sally.
But on a more serious note, my deepest sympathies to Rich and his family, I will try get time off work to attend the funeral of your brother Nick.
Very sorry Steve & Sue

I've only just got back from my hols, just logged on to my fave web site..... and I truly can't believe it!
Words fail me at present..........
I never had an opportunity to meet Nick, but I do remember seeing pictures of his car on here, It was obvious he had the same passion as most of us here on Scoobynet, Yes to some "it's just a car", but here it brings people together..
I work shifts, that means i'm off on Wednesday, and would be more than happy to make the journey North, to join in the convoy, and pay my respects to Nick.

Hi,
This weekend my brother, Nick who was 22, and an avid Scooby nutter, died of a brain haemmorage.
Although not an active poster on this bbs he did read it a fair bit and relied on me to post things for him as his job frequently took him out of the country. He attended many meets though with me and came on several of the rolling road days at Well Lane.
He loved Subarus, ever since I got mine, and when he finally got his own just less than a year ago he was over the moon and immediately set about modifying it.
The result was this:
All he wanted was to get the magic 300bhp, and like me he lived for his car, he loved it.
The night before he died he attended the North West Subaru Club meet for the first time (he'd been away for all the others) and there's a photo of him in the post about this meet.
The reason I am posting this is that I know he would have loved to get together as many Subarus as possible to attend his funeral.
He would love nothing more than to hear those rumbling boxer 4s one last time.
So please, if you knew him and even if you didn't I would like to invite as many of you as possible to attend his funeral. I'd love to see a Subaru meet as a send off for him, because nothing would have made him happier.
I understand that a lot of you may not be able to spare the time, but if you can, and you want to, I would love for you to attend, even if you don't know us.
We don't know the funeral details yet but I will be posting them up later this week.
Many thanks.
Rich

My condolences.
Was his death expected or unexpected (i.e. did you know he was ill)? IIRC you modified his Scoob for him while he was out of the country (or was that someone else)?

I'm so sorry to hear about this, I remember seeing pics of the car and it looks excellent - it must have been an excellent suprise for Nick
I hope you and your family remember the positive things and happy times....even though I'd never met Nick, this is always a sad thing
Keep smiling, however hard it is
Jen and Chris
Edited to say we probably won't be able to make Oldham in the near future - but my scoob will be taken for an extra long blast on the way home in honour of Nick. Just let me know which day...
Also great to hear about the organ donation - sounds like you had alot to be proud of, just think, Nicks already saved four peoples lives. Best wishes again....
P.S. We want to see the car when you've finished it

Rich,
My deepest Sympathies go out to you and your family.
It was my great pleasure to come to Jap Innovations earlier on in the year and meet yourself and your brother. I thought I was a ScoobyNutter until I met Nick !
Unfortunately I'm Scoobyless, or I would have been my pleasure to come and rev a flat 4 in his honour.
Kind regards
Mark

I know nothing we can say will make you feel better but I lost my sister to to a hemorage 5 years ago so I have an idea how you must be feeling. She went out shopping on the Saturday and collapsed whilst out.
I know I never had the privilege of meeting your brother but if I can make the funeral I will
My sincerest condolences
Mike

Rich my thoughts and deepest sympathies are with you, your family and friends. A tragic loss, which has saddened my heart.
Let me know where you are and if I can make the funeral I will. Otherwise I will fire up my Scoob at the appropriate time.

Hi,
Thank you so much for your kind words.
His death was sudden and very unexpected. My dad summed it up exactly when he said, "he just woke up one morning and died"
Fortunately he was at home with his mum and was due to fly to China on business yesterday. Thank God it didn't happen there, where he would have been on his own.
It WAS his car that I modded while he was away too and now I'm going to continue to mod it for him until it is how he would have wanted it. In fact, the night before he died he told me he wanted to do something REALLY different to it.
The good news is that he has donated some of his organs and has already helped 4 people who needed transplants, one of whom had been waiting 8 months for a suitable donor.
That makes me very very proud.
Thanks again
Rich

Hi Rich,
Chris told me yesterday about Nick, very very sad news.
My thoughts to you and your family.
Very good news to hear that your brother was caring enough to be a donor, so others may have a chance to have better quality lives, that is a priceless legacy.
I'll be there with my scoob, just let me know where and when.
see you soon
John
