Details of Nick Wild's funeral
#1
Nick would have been 23 on Wed the 7th August, so that is when we are having the funeral.
It will start at 1.00pm at St. Mary's church in High Crompton, Shaw near Oldham.
It will then be onto Rochdale Crematorium for around 2.20pm and finally onto the Norton Grange Hotel in Rochdale for a buffet and reception.
If you can make it to the funeral, please feel free to attend at any point, we're not fussy. Even if you didn't know us we'll be glad to have you there and you are welcome to the buffet, especially those who have travelled.
My good mate Mellow Yellow is organising a meet at Birch services on the M62 (eastbound) from Midday onwards (to give everyone time to get there) and he will lead the Scooby procession to the church for just before 1pm.
I'll also post directions to the church/crematorium for those who wish to make their own way or get lost/are late.
If you can't make it to the funeral if you want to rev your engines out of respect, 3 o'clock would be perfect as by then the service at the Crem should be over.
If anyone has any questions, please feel free to ask.
Many thanks for all your support and kind words.

I think Birch is a most appropriate location given the tradition of meets and RR days.
I'll be there and Shirley also expressed a wish to come along.
Do we put black ribbon on ariel/mirrors as suggested in one of the other threads?
Can we send flowers or is it family only?
Dress Code, Black or Scooby Shirts/Jackets?
Sorry for the dumb questions, I'd just like to get something right for a change.

Hi,
Thanks everyone.
Banshi,
Yes, please bring Shirley and yes, the black ribbon is a cool idea.
As for flowers, it's up to everyone, if you want to bring flowers, that's fine or you can make donations to the Hope hospital NHS trust in his name.
Re dress, Nick's being buried in his Subaru cap and t-shirt, so I think Subaru attire would be very fitting.
GarnetFox, that's fine m8, it's a lovely gesture.
Cheers, and thanks in advance if I don't get chance to speak to you on the day.

Moderators - Could you set up a temp forum for all Nick related subjects? (do know if this would be a big job or not) as a tribute to his memory.

My Scoob will be with it's new owner by 3pm today - I'll instruct him to give it some welly on the way home
As other people have said I hope it goes as well as can be expected today and that you enjoy talking with friends and family about the good times.
