Hey Mark
If your thinking of doing it then you could e-mail the dealer I used. Only 1hr from the Hook. Very nice dealership and extremely helpful.
Contact Hans Douwes @ laros.trading@worldonline.nl
He'll give you a Nett quote, all you do is add the VAT and ferry to get it back. Dead easy

Speak direct to garages and work out the price - I used Autobedjrif Gertjan van der Velde in Zuid Beijerland, near Rotterdam, in Holland. Gertjan (pronounced hhhhhhhetian) runs it, and is an absolutely top geezer.
Also speak to Iain Litchfield at Litchfield Imports. They have a banner ad, and to be honest I'd struggle to import, register, deliver, warranty for 3 years for the price he's doing.
Nick.

I imported my car from subaru vilvoorde near brussels. I emailed them to find out about service prices and find out a price for a 01 my wrx. The 01 wrx is not available now due to them being on the 02 my build, however as a guide subaru vilvoorde were selling 01 wrx 4 door, met paint, bucket seats for 843,331 belgian francs or about 14,900 inc uk vat!! obviously importing it will cost you a few hundred pounds extra but it it still a large saving over you previous prices. I would go direct, avoid the middle man, he also wants paying

I have just placed an order for a (MY02) WRX 4 door, met paint, bucket seats and a nice set of WRX carpets through Keyring Cars at a Belgian Franc price less than Subaru Vilvoorde quoted you. Bully for you I hear you say - but my point is that it doesn't always pay to do it yourself.
The UK purchase price of an imported car also depends on what exchange rate you can get for the deposit and the final balance and the exchange rate prevailing or decided by Customs when you are required to pay the VAT.
I have no connection with Keyring other than being a customer but their fees are very reasonable for removing the hassle of researching/dealing with foreign dealers. If Keyring are making commission from the dealer off my order, well OK I can live with that.

I don't know how they have managed to quote you for a 02 my car as the prices haven't yet been fixed in belgium (or they hadn't when he mailed me last friday 22/6/2001), also subaru vilvoorde happen to be the importer there,so I'm sure they know their stuff.
