This was published on i-club,
its a Ferrari which crashed at a very high speed (over 150MPH),
there pictures of two cars (one of them the Ferrari) and of two dead people, one you can't even recognize.
Beware! these are hard to look at...

I think I might slow down after that. I wouldn't care if it was me (obviuosly,) but can you imagine trying to live with doing that to someone else. Maybe traffic branch do have a point

 

I haven't looked at the pictures, and I don't intend to, remembering the open face helmet thread, and without opening up another censorship can of worms - do we want this sort of thing on here?

 

I think its important to look at the pictures, and remember what can happen when going this fast.
I think it is even more important to people like us who own high speed machines.

Where do we draw the line at censorship really isn't my call, but I'm not happy about seeing stuff like this!

Jesus Christ!!! I'm neither easily offended or squeamish, but these pictures made me feel a bit strange. I seriously recommend not looking at them and putting your curiousity aside like I wish I'd done. If this is the kind of thing Traffic Police have to see, I'm glad I have an office job.

Sadly I think these pictures have a temporary effect on people.

We have had a number of fatalities in my part of the world recently. I really wish people would take it easier.

Nick, believe me those aren't the graphic images from that site. That's what happened to the cars. What happened to the bodies is also on the link. Disturbing.

Whether this should be locked or not is questionable. I could be persuaded either way, but if I had kids I know what my answer would be.

Censorship is bad. If pictures such as this were more widely shown then people probably would be a bit more sensible.

Fine the pictures of the car are Ok, but for christ sake knowing what was in the link and posting it is questionable, no matter how much the warning or the build up it does not prepare you.

OK. After consultation the link has been deleted, as has the second photo.
I doubt very much judging by the web address that it would be covered by 'Net Nanny' or similar software.
It's one thing seeing nasty pictures of people that are alive, it's another thing altogether seeing pictures of dismembered people that aren't.
I think the surviving photo is sufficient to serve the purpose of the thread.

A big thank you to Stef for dealing with this so quickly. And thank you also to everyone who emailed me about this thread.

Whilst the intentions of those who posted the links and images were clearly good and it clearly stated what was included in the pictures, scoobynet is really not the place for them.

I know that the intention was as a warning to us, and it is a very VERY valid warning indeed. It would crush me and the majority of this community if anything serious was to happen to a member, as it has done in the past.

I hope you will understand the reasons for deleting the links and pictures as deletion of ANYTHING is something we take VERY seriously.

But it is clear from the sheer number of complaints and the severity of content that it is best to remove it.

anyone can trace the link using the picture (of the smashed Ferrari) properties.

 

Oops, I seem to over reacted somewhat and I apologise.
When I saw the first post I thought it was maybe nasty but at least I had the choice to see or not.
When I saw the second post with the first piccy coming up directly then I e-mithired straight away without realising it was the mangled cars without bodies.

If we can get a copy of the car damage picture hosted elsewhere, we can reinstate it with a new link. Otherwise, I was not happy that the URL was very easily available under that image... many members may not know how to use it, but I bet their kids do.
