Talking

just been given the "if you think i am going to another car show this weekend you have another thing coming"

so its a no!no!

liked the way you tried to put your lass off going to elvington by saying "all the girlfiends were into cars too and would be talking about cars all the time"

yes,she told my lass all about it

I left at about 3 pm yesterday. I noticed on the way out of the site there was an oldish gentleman in what I think was a black Audi Estate. He was filming the cars that left the TOTB shootout from his drivers seat, which I thought was odd.

I gave him a bit of a stare, and my mate asked "wtf is HE doing?"....

I of course immediatley thought of the warranty thread, and what with the Guildford "film you and tell your insurance companies" this morning I thought I'd better let people know there may be summat odd going on here....or it might be me being paranoid, even though I was only there to watch.

Did anyone else notice him sitting there on the right hand side with his camera?

I didn't but then I was intent on getting home.

Don't care either as PTMW! out of warranty, like I would expect the vast majority of cars that took part (bar the GT2?). As to insurance? Why bother as no-one was doing anything that was likely to cause a crash So what would be the point? Also likely to be filming speccys (like you two) so is it a crime to go to a legitimate organised event in your car, pay for entrance etc etc. Next time, stop and ask methinks...

Where abouts is elvington, is it in yorkshire?. The description of the audi fits Mojo and his attempted carjacking, see this thread http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...hreadid=118455. did the audi have distinctive wheels?

Did not bother cause wasnt doing anything "wrong". i just noticed him thats all.

By the way PTMW i never got bored of watching you go round and round and round...... the handling cicuit got some reasonable footage of you on full attack when you and john were going after one another near the end.

probably find it was some do gooder local that wants to complain to the council. The karting fraternity used to get loads of this, and there is always some kill joy on the local council etc.

Best one was the airfield at dunkeswell, someone complaing about the Sea Venom jet on display, and how the noise drives him mad, only thing was, it had no engine, go figure.

Probably be some letter in the local rag complaining, some people have nothing better to do.

I spotted him aswell, he wasnt filming when I left but he did have a camera in his hand. Also some **** in a saxo was tearing about the car park. If he was the local doo gooder I would have expected him to get that.

I am fairly sure it was a Vauxhall Vectra Estate in maroon. The guy had glasses and was thinning on top. The camera was one of those new vertical digicam things with a screen on the side.

I noticed him filming me on exit, but as I drove past he seemed to still be aiming at the airfield (i.e. he didnt follow me as I went past him, and there were no cars behind).

Did look a bit fishy, but my warranty ran out about 6 years ago, and I was only doing 5mph so no probs.

Good to meet you yesterday Buzz btw

Puff - He HADNT paid to get in, he was sat at the exit on the left hand bend where you turn away from the aeroplanes and head towards the road...so there :P. Wasnt really of concern to me either, as Ive also go no warranty and wasnt "speed testing" or whatever they say you "cant" do..

I should have approached him I suppose.."Scuse me, but Im concerned about thieving SCUM, can you tell me why you are filming my car?" *punch, punch, punch, steal film, smash camera, mount old gits head on a pole....*

That would have done it.

Steve, I WILL get a back box one day. And then a filter...and a dump valve....and a de-cat pipe etc etc etc etc.....*sigh*

Just not until Ive paid a few bills and the money I save can be spent on cars, and not "wasted" on the house, tax , child

Nice to meet you too DW

I wish Id asked for a ride Puff looked like a blast. To make it fair of course John F should have had to endure the same weight penalty ...in fact ALL of the competitors....I could have held the camera, but it might have been a bit blurry

I shall have to have a go myself I suppose. My mate enjoyed it so much he even suggested we buy a Lotus we know about for a grand and start "modding"

I a saw him too - I thought it was a Maroon GM Estate - guy of fifty plus - grey - thin on top - this was around 4pm.

He was clearly pointing a camera at me when driving out - I stopped next to his car and gave him a Paddington stare - he then pretended to be doing something else. I am sure that will make him think twice about stealing my car!

Saw this geeza too, me and Kate immediately said to one another that he looked a bit odd. Same with me, pointed the camera straight down the exit road, but kept it pointing that way, never panned around as we exited to the left.

I am worried now, not re warranty, cause they would need more than me leaving a car park to prove anything there. Nor am I worried about the insurance side of things. But reconisence (forgive the spelling if wrong!!) mision for professional car theft operation, worries me a lot. With photographic recordings of everyones plates as they leave, not the track day plates that many people put on when taking part.

Wish i'd have got hiw reg now...

Unhappy

So the answer seems to be, drive half a mile away from the track before swapping your plates back
