Hello

You don't say your name but welcome

Perhaps not having your reg plate as your nick name would be a good idea tho?

Welcome Andrew, this is a fine BBS - whatever opinions you come away with, this BBS has some great characters and is always top entertainment

Good motto, btw - applies to all cars too, just depends on the test1cle size of the driver!!

Do you like gold wheels, btw?

i like gold wheels

only looks right on a Scooby

I don't think they would suit my car much.. lol

i love going round bends

one of the main reasons i purchased my current car was becuase it was pretty "quick" and the handling is fantastic, for FWD anyway

:: knows what is comming ::

i own a brand new Y reg Fiesta ZetecS, i know it is a ford, but it is pretty "quick" (103ps) with it being small, and the handling is great which is the main reason i bought it

i hope to get a scoob maybe in the next 3 years

I saw a light blue CRX del sol with gold wheels today - looked quite good! not just for scoobs, eh!

As for the fiesta - at 19 I was driving an audi 80 GLS with ALL the electrics (trouble is 95% of it wasn't working!!!!)

Fiesta Zetec S is a fine car at 19 (I also had an MG Metro) - one which I may persuade the missus to buy.

Bob T is a fellow Fiesta man on this board and I am sure you will hear from him soon on one of your threads.

i have read so much about that Big end #3 thing my head is gonna make like a blown one

personly i rekon it is both the Heat issue with it being near the turbo, and the Fuel distribution

im pretty sure that:

Uk Turbo Group 17
RB5 Group 17
P1 Group 20

I think thats right.
Jap Imprezas cost a fortune to insure so they must be group 20 as well.

In general terms....
UK 'normal' Scoobs are group 17
UK 'special' Scoobs (RB5 etc) are group 18
UK P1 are group 20
Import Scoobs are group 20
UK WRX Scoobs should be group 17, but some insurance co's think they're 20 as they think that they are Jap imports (...but all Scoobs are imports of course )

Sometimes a 'B' is added to the group number to indicate that they are sort of 'special' ie more likely to be stolen/have accidents etc than the normal group cars

AFAIK, group 21 does not exist, but I'm sure an insurance bod will put me right

Have to agree with you, buying the car is one thing paying for the insurance, fuel, tyres and servicing is the expensive bit!

The Renault Clio Williams always looked sweet with its gold wheels.

I've seen a Mk3 Escort round town, with performance tuned stickers, and gold spraypainted steel wheels. That had me on the verge of selling my scooby.

And why do people put big Kenwood stickers in their rear windows? To me, Kenwood means food mixers. I might start a trend... Who'll join me with the Moulinex decor?

Question

See I am unsure about this whole insurance groups lark. My car is Group 19 I believe (94WRX). The company who I am insured with said that cars are grouped 1-22, but standard cars are never rated higher than 20, so maybe two extra groups are for modified cars?
