basically a standard uk turbo 2000 awd - no air-con - low spoiler usual 98 stuff really
Is there anything else i need to be aware of before i have a look at this car and part with
im pretty wise when it comes to buying/selling privately but this would be my 1st scooby

If you intend keeping it long term and not selling it then the mileage is not too much of a problem as long as it is reflected in the price..
About 7k would be a good figure.. but I doubt they would sell it for less than 8k... but it will be difficult to sell on so you have some bargining power...
Might be better to go for a 50k mile MY96 or MY97 for similar money.
How many miles do you do? if it is going to get 5k a year then it is not going to increase too quick and problem should not be too bad with the mileage but if you do 20k a year then it would be cheaper to start with a lower mileage car in the first place probably..
They are good for the miles but still need more repairs the more they do.. not a cheap car to run really either..
Expect the front oil seal to go at about 100k unless changed with the cambelt at 90k.. another cambelt and seal change later...

i'd probably offer £6.5 in cash, as i'll need cat1 + tracker to get it insured anyway (cos im only 23 - 2yrs noclaims)
thing is, and i guess most ppl feel the same, i much prefer the facelifted front end and nice nicer interior but dont have shed loads of cash, especially as im in the process of buying my 1st house in Reading
