My MY00 was sold last Saturday to Breezer (who seems really happy) and I picked up my new car yesterday. Its a black Audi S4.
First impressions are that it is much more solid than the Scooby (to be expected), softer on the suspension, awesome torque and it pulls like a train from 2K revs even in 6th gear.
The Scooby would leave it round the twisty bits (just) and the S4 feels like it would mullah the Scooby from 50mph upwards. I haven't tried any 'quick' starts yet so I don't know how it will compare from 0-50. The gearchange on the S4 is horrible and really needs a quick-shift.
So I don't have to worry about the local scrots trying to get the Big Wing or bonnet scoop to fit to their Novas or carjacking and I'm well pleased.

Welcome to the Audi fold. I rejoined a week or so ago after deciding what car to replace the STI 7 with.
Still needs the 19" wheels shown here
The gearchange is easily solved with the UUC
www.uucmotorwerks.com
Few of the S4 owners have also added H&R suspension to their S4's. Glad you enjoy the performance and powerplant. You have a very tunable engine there Visit www.audi-sport.net if you havnt already.

Another vote here for the quickshift - it made a HUGE differene on the 6 speed box on mine - much more than on a Subaru which is pretty good in the first place
Also, have you decided which nice-n-easy 315bhp chip to go foryet?
DON'T forget the brakes though as are not great - Porsche/Mov'it
seem to be the favourites on audisport.net

RS4 is now sat on the drive Saving for the wheels in the picture above, however Audi have now issued new wheels for the RS4 FOC after the bending issue.
Deep
Yes the S4 is a twin turbo with 265bhp and 295lbft. Simple reliable chip will give 315bhp and 370lbft , some companies even let you switch maps via the cruise control. For about 5k Jeff could have over 400bhp and way over 400lbft That sort of power will give low 4 secs to 60 and under 10secs to 100.

Daz B.....didn't you see that it's called 'audinet' now
RS6 looks nice....costs ££££££££ (almost Porsche 996 price). RS4 is also too pricy for me....My S4 cost £38K new now it's worth £21. It does say in the service book that it is 20K miles service interval ....might change the oil more often than that !.

a friend of mine has got an RS4 with an Abt chip, gives 420bhp and some more torque; accelerates the same as an Evo...
I must, however, suggest that you URGENTLY visit this site:

Re servicing - you can choose IF it is 2000MY with variable servicing pre-programmed.
If it's variable, the trip computer counts you down in miles to the next service - the best I had on mine was 23000 but I bottled at 20k.
OR
You tell the dealer that you would rather have fixed intervals and you go in every 10k
It's one or the other.
>>> Good choice re AMD but they're booking 5 weeks ahead at the moment so get your name down.
>> Quickshift definitely good (My Audi dealer fitted mine)
> Do NOT forget the brakes on the S4 - they are not as good as the 4 pots on my Impreza for fade, feel and wear. I gave up with trying better pads alone but uprated Pagid discs and pads do help either that or £1300 from AMD for Porsche spec.

I doubt an std or lightly modded EVO will keep up with a lightly modded RS4 on the straights. Even in std form a std EVO is 12.3 secs to 100 vs 11.3 for a std RS4. Take the EVO Extreme it takes 11.0 secs to 100 compared to 9.8 secs for a lightly modded RS4. EVO tops out at 159 vs nearly 180 for the RS4.
Ive already ordered the Quattro GMBH suspension and UUC. Will look at the brakes next. Friend of mine can get me Movit.

RS6 is auto only, so if might suit you not me as I like a drivers car unlike you

Actually a guy at work brought the last audi magazine in with the RS^ in and I nust admit it looks the business. Isnt the RS4 an avant only. Whats going on with them, RS4 estate only, RS6 auto only. What happened to Audi's fire breathing saloons and hatches ???

I tend to agree with you for the first time It would of been good to have seen Quattro GMBH work on the S3 a year or so ago to give us an RS3 That might of shook the Scooby world.

Just trying to make sure what I gain on the straights I keep in the corners . Not sure I'll achieve it though.
