Hi

I have seen this book advertised in this months "Revs" mag. Does anyone know if this is worth buying?
It has a no quibble money back 90 day guarantee. Has anyone had their fingers burnt.

Cheers
Lee

Thumbs up

I bought a copy a few years ago (author M. Thwaite, copyright 1996).

There _is_ some useful information in there! If you can afford the twenty quid or whatever that they are charging, go for it - if not don't. Simple as that!

No miracles, but common sense information that makes you think a little about your driving and your attitude (and how to handle situations).

I just had another look, and yes, i think that it is still worth it - YMMV.

p.s. The only possible downside is that you may get on the Streetwise mailing list!!!

I bought mine a few years ago.

IIRC, I paid about £9.99 - might have been a special deal.

A lot of it is common sense. Probably worth the money.

Scrappy,

are your saying that you have read the handbook? You must read some very intellectual books if you think that it is "Biggest load of crap ive ever read"!!!

JJ,

a tenner sound great value! After all, it is only a spiral bound bunch of A4 pages (i.e. not a _real_ book)!

Scott,

Mine only goes up to Chapter 6 - so it seems that the latest versions have a lot more info!

Lee,

The book may only state the obvious, but it does help you *think* a little about driving - well worth half a tank of gas! I also have "A Business Driver's Survival Handbook" - sadly with no ISBN, which also describes some "obvious" facts, and if you pop into your local _big_ bookstore, there are many relevant books such as "Butterworths Police Law" (ISBN 0 406 00223 1 or later) and the excellent "The Traffic Officer's Companion" (ISBN 0 85164 083 4).

They all help you think a little more about what you are doing (and the inherent consequences!),

Look Boomer im just saying it is a waste of time.It is mostly common sense. And yes i do read some very interesting books when im not driving around in my scooby. I just happen to think that this ex copper is taking us on a ride, thats all. Anyone with a bit of knowlegdge about the law can write a book like this and make some money at the same time.
