To be a bit more constructive and helpful, if you get nowhere then look in the yellow pages.

You want them painted, not powder coated, as this will last better.

Red face

NOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOOooooooooooo

Don't do it

Only to55ers have gold wheels

(Just beating Mr Lewis to it..LOL)

Now, seriously, is it not the other way around? I thought powder coating was better than simple painting.

Right you lot, My beloved Scoob has gold wheels, and I think it looks the Bollocks, despite all the shouting from Mr P.S. Lewis, Leave the guy alone if he wants gold wheels let him have them, I would'nt have any other colour cos the car is Mica Blue, I always dreamt of owning the exact car I have so leave us gold wheel guys alone.......YOU TARTS
Cheers

You may be better off trying to get hold of
some decent second hand gold rims, then you
wont knaker your alloys up.
silver is good but gold is better :d

Just had mine done by Wicked Wheels and the match was brilliant.

I wouldn't advise powder coating as its not a good match and you don't get the gold metallic effect, instead a dull gold effect - yeuch!

How could I resist for so long?

Buy a pot of Airfix paint and paint it on by hand - yes, it will look total cr4p ..... but Gold Wheels ARE supposed to look cr4p!! and they DO oh yes they DO!!

By spending all that effort hand painting them you will have built up quite a few muscles - you will NOT be seen dead with Gold Wheels then!!

Sorry to all the girlies who have Gold Wheels

Iceman,

I had my wheels coloured gold by Micheldever tyres a few months back. They acid-stripped, refurbished and painted them. The only problem is that Prodrive/Subaru would not supply the colour code and so I used Renault Williams gold (slightly darker). The quality was excellent, looked like new wheels.

Personally I think

Only thing was I sold them last month to upgrade to 17" Speedlines (also gold).

Hope this helps

here's the muppet answer now ... from someone who's not only a muppet but has gold wheels ....

why not just buy a set of gold wheels ... that way you have a spare set of wheels ...

can't think why anyone would want to paint them gold ... what if you don't like them?

anyway some of the gold out there is real nasty ..... and lowers the tone

so why not do the job properly

congrats to pslewis for restraining yourself for so long ... that must have been real hard

Iceman,

if you want to buy a set of Speedline 17s .... I would probably be willing to sell them ... they have Pirelli P Zeros with only a few thousand miles wear on them ... the alloys are in reasonably good condition

Question

You selling your Golds Rebecca??

Is this because you REALLY do want me - even though you act like you dont and you realise that I only like girls in silver - Gold is soo soo tacky

I'd only be selling them Pete because I want to upgrade my brakes ... and 4pots or 6pots and Speedlines don't go

does anthracite count as silver??? if not then I'd rather go for antracite (if that means I'm safe from you )
