Level Crossings
#1
Stopped at a level crossing in Switzerland the other evening. I arrived just as the lights started to flash. As the Swiss are famous for protecting their citizens from anything that might possibly be dangerous, I though I was in for a long wait.
The train arrived 75 seconds later and the barriers opened up immediately the train was gone.
So, the question is, if the Swiss can manage with a 75-second "warning", how come it's four minutes in England??
Think what that does to your cross-country averages!

4 minutes is that all you can wait in excess
of 10-15 minutes at Thatcham Level crossing just waiting for the train to turn up!
Why the stupid council refused to let the air force at greenham put a bridge in when they were here i will never no !
