there are only two two door RAs and neither were stis. They are bloody rare, and I only found out they existed last week. It is fair to assume that 99.99% RAs are four doors. earlier ones were all white, except v lims which were rally blue. Now you can get them in other colours.
Price wise, I am not an expert, k plate cars now go for under 10k. RAs are normally more money as they are a bit special, and a good basis for modding. milage and condition must be reflected in price as usual so it depends on these things.
I would guess in the region of 8.5 to 10k.

Lightweight, no sound deadening, intended to be used as basis for rallying.
notrmally have shorter gearing, no abs, and a lockable centre diff.
All the stripped out bits can be reinserted brand new at factory, so some have abs, and electric windows and air con.
Type ra v lims, had a roof vent, and all the niceties reinserted as standard. They also had normal gear ratios, and were a limited production run.

My friend has just imported his and circumstances have changed and he needs to get rid, its on a k-plate and it has 75km on the clock, he wants 6k which is cheap.

Are we talking about a WRX RA or WRX STI RA as they are very different cars ? The WRX is a real shell for rallying purposes, but the STI is more of a road developed car.
As already said RA's (well, STI's anyway) are always white except for the V-lims, have roof vents and shorter gearing (although each version/MY seems to have different ones) and also a quicker steering rack.

<B>What is the difference between a Type RA and a normal WRX ????????[/quote]
- no rear spoiler
- no spotlights
- no air-con
- no central-locking
- no electric windows
- no abs brakes
- no car radio
- no handholds (by head)
- no sound deadening material
- very close ratio gearbox
- 5 fuel injectors
- bucket seats
- Nardi steering wheel
- no centre rear seatbelt
- manually operated IC water spray
- aluminium bonnet and boot
- front and rear LSD
- lower compression blueprint STi engine
- closed deck engine block
- quick-rack steering
- adjustable centre diff (for newer ra's)
- roof vent (for newer ra's)
Whilst the standard wrx of the time was 1260kg, the RA came in at 1170kg, and with a ridiculously close ratio gearbox can accelerate like stink. I may have missed something but this should give you an idea. This is based on my research/observations from my '93 Jap spec' WRX RA. Over time the spec's on the normal wrx increased, and the ra's got heavier.
