Calling all Scooby drivers.

I have a theory -

Never trust a driver with a hat on.

Whether it be XR3i man with his baseball cap or Mr Allegro in a trilby they just can't drive. Am I right? Let me know.

Cool

Penni,

What's wrong with baseball caps? (as long as they are worn forwards)

Cool

Oh please...

Come on, do you wear your hat indoors as well? Why wear it in a car?

I only wore a baseball-cap when driving my convertible, with the hood down. (Stops the high sun getting in over your cool shades!).

Mind you, I've worn a big jesters hat with bells on whilst wearing a suit and driving my scooby on the motorway - Caused some mirth!!

Never take life too seriously!

What about bobble hats when you are on your way to a rally?

Doesn't the police uniform include a hat (flat ones for traffic officers because they don't get sunroofs?).

Miles, wouldn't that depend on how late you were going to be?

Mark,

I'm in total agreement with you, Deerstalkers, caps(forward, backwards, sideways), you name it - Hats are for outside to keep one's head warm, not for driving in.

As too trusting this mentality of folk - never!!

One of my previous cars (1987MR2) had 3k worth of damage done to it , when I was passing a Mazda 626 driven by an old fella in a deerstalker. He decided to turn right up a farm track without indicating or checking his mirrors! no witness's , went 50/50. Some you win some you loose. C'est la vie

cheers

Howie,

When you say "passing", do you mean you were overtaking him and hadn't seen the junction (farm track) to the right, or did he just switch lanes into you on a dual carriageway?

Moray,

I was overtaking!!, the road was derestricted and the straight was about 250m long the farm track was on the right about halfway down, he'd been crawling along at about 25mph for the past 5mins, therefore as I made my intention to overtake as soon as we went into the straight he did n't slow down or indicate he just swung into the track (wasn't even sign posted)by then I was committed to the manoeuvre. You can guess what happened next.

Howie
