Where to Get Octane Booster?

NF does 300 litres, I think millers does 50 litres (correct me if I'm wrong please)
Impreza Tanks are 50 litres Pre 96 and 60 litres later.
NF adds about 2.8 RON (according to new age link above) to SUL and Millers adds 2 (from memory)

Hi SCOSaltire
I've tried both Millers and NF with my MY94 STI V1 - decideed to run with NF, as cost per tank was slightly cheaper, and engine 'seemed' perkier (is that a real word?) with the NF.
Both should work fine with cats, else I've just buggered mine up !

Hi Guys
I've been experimenting with Millers added to SUL in my MY2000 Turbo (one bottle to a tankful). Perkier is a good description of how the car seemed. Now back running on SUL only and noticing the difference. Will the engine management systen cope happily with all this buggering about to 99 octane?

Has anyone ever explained how it can be that with NF you add a full bottle at the first fill up, top up after half a tank (just petrol) for the next X number of times until you've treated 300 litres and have a consistant octane rating the whole time? And if you just add a few ml's to each tank instead then you are never going to match the best octane rating they claim which was measured on a full bottle a tank dose. Still sounds wrong to me. At least with millers you get a consistant octane rating.
If you meant for thrash/track use though, NF sounds like it has the edge, but will be more expensive at a bottle a tank.

Chuck,
Our new shipment of NF contains amended instructions.
Basically, add between 1 and 5ml per litre, depending upon application.
1ml per litre will give a good comparison to Millers, higher concentrations will be an improvement. 5ml per litre in an STI will give excellent results as you would expect.
Ultimately the proof is in the pudding - I don't believe anyone who was previously using Millers and tried NF, has gone back to Millers.
We are still waiting for the independant tests to be done. I am 100% confident of putting this product against any rivals.

Chuck, that question has caused more confusion than anything else.
I STILL can't get a plausible explanation from the manufacturers at this time. I have a box full of mails from them all stating widely varying explanations???
Also consider that Millers is far more practical in application and also has additives that allow for better flame front propagation by altering the molecular structure (long carbon string) of the fuel itself.
It's not all just about RON ratings!
Most people I know who have tried NF have returned back to Millers.
Mike.

Just my 2 penneth worth ....
I've been using NF for a couple of months now, after trying Millers for about a month. Yes, NF is fiddly :-
1) Measure amount out into container.
2) Put container down, and open fuel cap (doh!)
3) Pick up container, pour into tank, remembering to hold breath.
4) Remember to start breathing again
5) Wipe hands after spilling.
5) Shut bottle.
6) Fill up with precious SUL
-: but no worse than finding yourself at a petrol station and realising you've forgotten to put another bottle of Millers in your boot !
As for the results, I think it's all going to be in the mind of the beholder - I'm happy to stick to NF, because it works.

Which to buy? They all do the job from what I've read/heard.
Proboost probably still works out the most expensive per tank for regular use.
NF may prove to be the cheapest on a 1ml per litre basis, but you have to live with the routine outlined above.
Millers, well 1 bottle per tank simplicity would decide it for me. Plus it certainly does work.
Scoobymania sell it, but I'd suggest you need to buy 2 or 3 cases to lower the cost (as shipping makes 1 case from Scoobymania less competitive than some other sources) Works out just under £3 a tank.

i usually put in 40 - 45 litres...
using millers would still be ok at 1 bottle per tank?
i see that this got a little heated... but dont anyone disappear.. this has been VERY useful to me....
thanks loads to everyone.
a BBS at its best.
i was going to go with NF, but sounds a bit of a palava with measuring out quanitities.
however... does also sounds as though its the more flexible... if putting 1 bottle of millers into 40 lires does not go.
do u get a nice measuring container to pour the NF stuff into.. with little chance of spillage?
remind me on the ecu reset... 1 hour disconnection of battery...
doesnt reset the alarm does it? fobs will not need reprogrammed?
cheers

I've got a modded UK 00
Apexi Fuel & boost controllers, catless exhaust induction kit etc.
I've tried STP, Millers (both Millers) but the Wynns has given even performance one bottle per tank with SUL or 2 with NUL. I could run more boost with Wynns than the other 2. Millers is the most expensive for the 2-3 octane increase.
With NUL & wynns I get 1 octane more than SUL which makes it cheaper to use 2 x wynns than SUL & 1 wynns (really sad £1.10 per tank).
