Driving on the motorway the other day (bright and dry, little traffic)

Doing about 85 in lane 3....

Overtake a car in lane 2, driving a little erratically, as we pass my wife (in passenger seat) says "did you see that driver?? He had a map open which was completely covering his steering wheel.... what a ****** " I did not see as I was concentrating on the road.

Overtake another erratic driver about a mile further on, this one has his right elbow on the door ledge, with the hand pressed firmly against his head talking on mobile phone... on occasion he took the other hand off the wheel to gesture to the person on the other end of the line, my wife said similar comments as before.

Now I was speeding, they were not (probably they were doing 60ish), but I had my attention totally on the road/ car... they obviously did not....

Who is the dangerous driver??
Who would get done by the authorities??

Why are there so many ******** drivers out there?

See where you are coming from and agree with what you are saying - there are some complete w**kers out there.

In answer to your question though the boys in blue (with a little white top ) would do all of you given half the chance. You for speeding (did you want to post your guilt??) and the other two for without due care and attention.

But the first person they'd go for would be Steve. If there would be only one police car they'd go for Steve. The other two would get away with it. They'll always go for the speedster. Speedster, top proirity number one, even though the other two are the more dangerous in this case.

WREXY.

Cool

WREXY - imho i don't think all traffic coppers are that stupid or ignorant - yes they will be attracted to the more noticable offence of a scoob flying down the outside lane - but as i say give them a chance and they will do the others. If you watch such crap as Motorway Life or similar you will see that not a lot escapes the beady eyes of the humble motorway porker

No, not posting guilt (they would have to prove it and it was my first and only time over 70mph..... yeah right, no-one else speeds eh?? :look: )

Just to prove/show that I am not "whiter than white", as most people here probably speed a little......

Sorry DMB....

read that and it seemed a bit condescending...... didn't mean to be

But I still think that I would have been the one 'done' and the others would still be an accident waiting to happen

Wink

Steve , how many on here can say :

"I drive an impreza turbo and i've never broken the speed limit"

probably one - and he's a liar. By the way i drive an impreza tur...

85mph is what most traffic does on the mway anyway. Reading maps however must be a minority sport (i truely hope so anyway ;( )

Very true mate....

Unfortunately crazy driving is not limited to the motorway

On the way from the gym to work this morning (about 3 miles) noticed at least 6 examples of people not paying attention (pulling out in front of people/ jumping the lights/ not giving way to pedestrians on crossing. etc....) some just stupid, some very dangerous... where are the police when you need them?? (probably stopping speeding on the motorways).

But surely Gatsos have a "map reading driver" detect fitted, and don't laser speed-guns have "phone-dead driver" monitors?

Nah, 71mph on a clear motorway is much more dangerous (hello Mr. Blunkett, er wave (not))

Question

Poses the question though - would they break off if they saw a more dangerous offence? or would they leave it to nail you cos they saw you first??

But what do they deem to be "more dangerous"??
