RB5 - Spec. Questions
#1
A collegue of mine is purchasing an RB5 from out local dealers, and we were wondering what the differences in spec are :
What has the RB5 that a standard MY99 UK Impreza Turbo doesn't
What does the WR kit give you over the standard RB5.
The dealer informed him that it has no performance advantage over a standard UK car, and had not been fettled by Prodrive.
I was under the impression that all RB5 were fettled by Prodrive and that it had 237BHP or is that just the WR.

RB5 came with:
Prodrive quick shift
Aircon
17 inch speedlines and Pzeros
solid rear bulkhead
PIAA driving lights and RB5 cover for these
interior map lights (these were also then included in the MY00)
alcantara interior-seats and door panels
RB5 mats
RB5 numbered plate
218 bhp
I think that is all check out the SIDC FAQ

Yes Andy is correct, that is the list of extras on a "normal" RB5, like mine. The Prodrive version is the same but, like you say it has about 237BHP and a different exhaust and rear spoiler.
My car is for sale at £17995 with 25500 miles on the clock if your mate is interested.
Either way he will love it.
Cheers, Nick
