Has anyone seen Revs this month with the 2.0 16v turbo nova he recons it's a WRX eater?
0-60 5.5s 220bhp 150+mph

Bet the cocky little s*** can't get round the corners like we can in a scoob.

I would like to see him do an emergency stop at top end ?

Has he put in 4WD? The torque steer on this puppy should be fun...

Thumbs down

Its been done before...a company called courtney do these conversions for nasty vaxhalls.

It probably started life as a Calibra/Cavalier Turbo engine and was shoehorned into the space under the bonnet.

Actually the 2.0 16v engine famed for use in early astra GTE 16vs is a very strong engine - built by cosworth I believe [b](</B>waiting for M.Rainbird to tell the 'cosworth story' - tee hee <B>)</B>.

It may go quick...but will it stop...and...will it still be working in 2 months time ?

Cosworth did the cylinder heads for the early 16V engines, used in the GSi cavaliers, calbra's and Astra's, these were the 150bhp ones, sorry to beat Mike to it I used to work for a company that did sub contract work for Cosworth

Crap idea putting a 2 litre 16v engine of any sort into a nova. All the ones I knew when I was in the nova group had to go back for extensive re-strengthening and rewelding jobs cos the torque was pulling the front end off the car!!

Come on guys, people like Regal Autosport have been doing this for years, turbo lump in a Nova is a straight forward thing, just need to stiffen and strengthen up the front end. Not a prob though. The standard Cav/Callibra turbo is a very good match with some decent suspension etc. as well. Great fun in the wet and you get a six speed box to go with it.

BTW Regal do Vauxhall turbo conversions to include Cosworth pistons and bolts that are capable of running 2.0 bar, (BHP and torque in the 300's) and they keep going. I'm hoping to complete a Link project on one soon !!

I remember one company managed to fit the Vauxhall 24V V6 2.5 block into a Corsa! And Fensport have recently made up a demonstrator car: a Toyota Corolla with a Celica GT4 2 litre Turbo engine.

Neither of these are big, but they are quite clever.

For info:

Regal Autosport (2 miles down the road) have branched into the Scooby tuning market, though I haven't paid them a visit yet to see what they do. I have been put off 'cos they fit Superchips!! The range of what they can do to a vauxhall both internally and externally looks quite extensive (and expensive).

They have a white WRX in the showroom window at the moment.
