Child seat in the car is your ticket to VIP supermarket parking, no more worries about dented doors.
Car seats - my daughters got a Recaro Start and finds it very comfortable even on 6-7 hour drives across France, seat is a minature 'proper' car seat rather than a piece of cloth covered plastic.

Mine are in booster seats now, but the Scoob seems to have cured my eldest ones car sickness. Must be the jolty ride instead of that wallowing ride.
The best piece of advise I can give any new parent is to go and buy Toddler Taming. It doesn't preach or stand in judgement, just gives lots of really good tips.
We still refer to it now and ours are 7 and 8.
Dave
p.s. remember it takes a real man to have girls ;-)

Okay, who's got a car seat in their scooby, or had one.
I'm winding up my missus great, telling her I can't wait to get one in, not long to go now, the women will love it, a potent guy in a mean looking road car, must get a bright orange and lemon one so it shows through the windows.
So what's the downside, I get out of the car, face like a smacked **** through lack of sleep.

Congrats - don't worry about the lack of sleep. It's all down to how relaxed and laid back you are as a family. The more noisy/active you are, the less sleep you'll get. I on the other hand, am totally the opposite. My daughter is now 16 months old. Goes to bed @ 6.30/7ish. Wifey had to WAKE her up at 10.30 yesterday!!!
Oh yeh, she sleeps al the way through. Has done since the year dot.
Car seats - I've got a Britax Renaissance. Looks like a throne in the back of the car, but it's blue and matches the car's trim
Congratulations anyway!

Hi Mark,
As you probably know by now I've got a Mammas and Pappas travel system thing, which lasts upto 15 months. The car seat is in dark blue with light blue bits on the seat and back. I think it's called "Urban" or something. Looks good in the Scoob and is very supportive for the tot.
When it's out grown this we will probably go for one of the Britax models. Had a look at some in M&S a while ago and they do look good.
Can not wait to get the seat in the car. I'll just be crusing around all day with a stupid grin on my face
I think ScoobyDoo555 has the right idea about sleepless nights. I'm sure it must be down to you own attitude. The baby can pick up on your own stress levels and if you are stressed out and adgitated then the baby will be too.
T-25 days and counting....

I've got twin boys (2.5 yrs) and regularly have both their seats in the back. The boys love going fast and get really bored when 'Mummy' drives. They want to come on track with me but think it will be a long wait !!
The Winnie the Pooh sun shades are a bit embarrassing (had them at Sussex scooby meet on Sunday) but who cares - might take them off for Bedford though

My first comes along in March, so I'll be after a seat too... I'm assuming there's just one of them, we'll find out soon!
Scary stuff,
Simon (lucky we bought a wagon - will be able to get everything and the dog in there!)

I was forced to get a 22B ( ) due to having 2 kids. It was the only way to get a UK car with standard 'pimp tint' rear windows to keep the sun outta the little'uns eyes.
Have a 2 year old and a 5'er. So 2 kids seats.
Chuck
(Sun visor or pimp tints an absolute must, nothing more fustrating than having ure kids woken up by sun in the eyes - really pi$$es em off)

Agree with Chuckster - Sun Visor is a MUST
It really pi$$es people off when you blast 'em in a familly car ('especially cossie owners )

I get 3 kids in the back of my STI 10mths 2 & 4. Every time we pull away I have to do it flat out to the chants in the back "FASTER, FASTER, FASTER", (from the ones who can talk, the little one just giggles) and yes we do give them petrol in their bottles at night

Guys, unless there are some gals out there who are just reading this post.
My wife has been here reading these replies with me and says you are all softies when it's comes down to it, but giggling all the same. She's most imprezzed by your child seat choices and concern on the matter.
(Do your other halfs read over your shoulder?)
Chuckster, how the hell were you forced to get a 22b, I like many others here are probably most impressed with your abilities to get a 22b and not a UK model.
Blabs, agree with you entirely. I've said my children are going in a play pen until they are sixteen.
Puff, I'll keep them out of the front seat when parked and playing with the keys, can you imagine the NavTrak calls.
The wife is not convinced and has requested pictures of these car seats.
Keep it up everyone.

Sti doesnt have passenger airbag, but with twins I rarely get to go out with just one of them !
FYG we bought 2 maxi cosi seats as they were the easiest to fit yet seemed to have as good safety as any others.

BUCKLE CRUNCH
I had to get a replacement lap belt for my 5 door as the buckles sit too high. When you strap the seat in the buckle effectively sits across the corner of the seat base. In impact this would cause it to fail.
The replacement buckle has a lot shorter webbing so that when you pull it tight the buckle will only ever get pulled up vertically lie vertically against the side of the base of the seat and not get pulled around the base by the strap.
You should all check you straps for this.
I couldn't find any seat that would fit as standard and that was after several hours in M&S and Mothercare superstores (what fun)
Cheers

Doesn't last too long though! - mine are at the age where they like the Scoob and rallying on telly - but for long journeys prefer mum's Legacy 2.2 GX - more room in the back !
Oh well - maybe a B4 RSK ?
