30K Service - Dealer or TSL
#1
Just called my local dealer and theyve quoted the same price as TSL for a 30k/24 month service. I know who I'd prefer to carry out the work and use the right materials etc. But if I do go with TSL will this affect my warranty with Subaru in any way (extended warranty as a Dutch Import)?

Read you warranty stuff v.carefully, seem to remember someone invalidating their warranty in it's second or third year by going to a non scooby place. Think Davyboy pointed out the bit 'in the book'
IMHO - if this is the case then This is a monopoly and illegal, surely using genuine parts by trained mechanics is ennough to keep a warranty.
Interested to see where this goes

P1 - if you're worried re cost, then its gonna cost you at least a tankful to go to Notts & back! Plus anything else you might fancy whilst waiting @ Trouser's fine emporium
Welch's are pretty good anyway.

In the first year you can get the car serviced anywhere, as long as genuine parts are used.
The 2nd and 3rd year the car must be serviced at a Subaru Dealer in order for the warranty to reamin valid.

Replacing parts does save on servicing costs!
ITG air filter now induction kit... resulted in thumbs up and grins from the mechanics!
The new brakes resulted in a 10 minutes discussion with the service manager (not Bill anymore ) why there was no need to replace/bleed or touch the brakes after the new ones had only just been fitted. He backed down when I suggested that they pay for the cost of the brake fluid I would go and replace it with... hmmm Race Brake fluid £25 per litre!
The lads that did the servicing has said I dsould look at changing some other bits soon, to make his life easier and my servicing costs lower!

The other point is that TSL won't be cheap - they were a lot more expensive than my friendly subaru dealer- but they use tip top lubrication...
Plus you bugger your warranty.
You pays your money, and takes your choice
