Hi All
HUGE THANKS to all the Beta testers, we're about there with the new software.
It would be great if you could give it a hammering! and tell us what you think.

Simon,
Looks good - like the breadcrumb trail that shows where you are.
What's the VIP bit? Is it so you can list your favourite Scoobynetters?
See you've got a 'tabbed' effect behind the Scoobynet logo - how about putting the other links on separate tabs? E.g. VIPs, Favourites, FAQ etc.? Might help break the Reply and New Topic buttons out and make them more prominent?
Only other thing is have you considered adding explanatory 'tool tip' text (alt text) to the other buttons and things such as Add To My VIP List and Stats, instead of just the Reply button?
I know it doesn't sound like it, but I like it!
Cheers,
Steve

hi Shark
Some of the member files are old.. you might find that it will be your old password if you've changed it in the last couple of months...
might be worth re-registering a temp account.
Apologies

Simon,
Is it just me or are you using American date format? If it is a setting, please change it back to UK format (I hate that month / day / year thing). Other than that, a very nice looking BBS.
Cheers
Daniel

Hi Simon,
I'm not an IT bod, but when I click on the VIP or Favourites buttons or the Add to my VIP list or Stats links I get an HTTP 500 internal server error.
It might just be me!
Regards
Neil.

Seems very quick Simon.
I get the same IIS 500 errors trying to use the VIP button or stats link.
Only thing I would suggest is to drop the black background behind the links, but that's only aesthetics I really shouldn't comment on creative issues
ChrisB.

Stats look a bit scary though. Can you remove the reference to muppet show. I think a large number of time wasters are going to be exposed.
Me
Sal
Robertio
BillBill
Michelle
Longun
etc
etc
Can you also add a line to show how many times someone has posted last in a thread before it dies or gets booted to blowdog. Dave T-S' stats would be interesting then

Very nice Simon. Lots of plusses. Like the colour which shows you which topics you haven't seen yet and the VIP bit and stats bit. Nice colouring too.
Two things I noticed, the first is that the back button is slow as it takes ages to get back to the previous page. I've noticed this on here lately too. My back button works fine on the 22B bbs however. Anyone else noticed this? The second thing is that there is no, or at least I can't find a "go" button at the bottom of a page to be able to go to a different section for eg if I'm in general I can't find a go button to go to drivetrain.
Nice layout keep it up.
Cheers,
WREXY.

My post count has dropped cosiderably on the new bbs!
Will you be re-exporting the user information when it goes live?
Otherwise, Really good, fresh new look!

Looks pretty good.
How about:
1. Adding the (currently obscure) "active topics" link to the tab buttons, thereby making the link available on every page.
2. Changing the text-based "shop.scoobynet.co.uk my.scoobynet.co.uk bbs.scoobynet.co.uk chat.scoobynet.co.uk... etc" links to tab buttons to clean-up the look of the page.
Exciting stuff!

Got '500 internal server error' when clicking on 'search' (IE5.5SP2)
Is the search facility going to be better than the current one? Sometimes I can't get the current one to work (returns a blank page), and it isn't as useful as the old UBB one (I know it had enormous overheads) because you can't search by user name, and all forums, etc. If you've been kicking around this BBS for a long time, you can remember specific threads but not which forum they were in. The facility to use Boolean logic would be useful too, because of the vagaries of the ways people post things, e.g. ('bump' AND 'steer') OR 'bumpsteer'
