Anyone hard wired in their Geodesy?
#1
I am considering buying a Geodesy and was thinking of placing it to the right of the steering console, near the dash top vent. I also want to permanently wire in the base unit to avoid curly wires trailing around the cockpit.
Has anyone placed their unit in this area on the dash? Also, how easy is it to hard wire in and where is the best place to tap into the electrics?
Cheers Sean

Anywhere you can get a +12v/gnd feed from (clock or stereo should work).
It works from within the centre storage bin in the middle of the dash - its then within your peripheral vision so you can see the alerts (beeps are no use with the stereo really cranked).
Been thinking about removing the front and moving the LEDS so they go across the top of the main instrument cluster (but I'm too lazy at the moment!).

Have installed the antenna, its magnetic, but i used a double sided tape and stuck it to the dash by the tax disk holder ! Cable is long and the other end needs putting near the geodesy, it also needs a 12v feed from a cigarette lighter socket ! so if you havent hard wired it in, you will need a splitter for the lighter !
Dont have pics at the mo ! but can maybe take some if you still need em !
