How much is an SVA?
#2
I paid 180 (maybe it was 165?) quid for the SVA test on my car, built entirely from new parts.
Don't know what it costs for an import car. Call your local VRO (There is a list of VROs on the internet), they will send you an application form and tell you how much it will cost. They will also tell you where your local inspectorate is. Bear in mind that the waiting list is often over 4 weeks, particularly at this time of year.

still £165. £25 for a re-test
RichB - No plans to significantly increase the price of the test.
The ESVA tests test more things which will cost to get the cars through but the test itself isn't going up.

My WRX got the European wide version of the SVA (TUV?) by some inspectors from Germany because the waiting list was so long. So might be worth considering. They were very strict though, as you'd expect from Germans . The price was included in the list price so no help there.
