Sell On Of STi 7 With PPP
#1
So guys, by putting the PPP on my MY02 STi 7 I want to know what you reckon about selling it on in the future, would this put people off buying as the insurance would be more than it already is?.
Would they be weary of the 300BHP stress on the engine?
Ideas greatly appreciated!

I got offered £1000 more for my PPP'd MY00 because it had the 'proper' performance pack, as opposed to a third party one. Depends on where you'll be wanting to trade it in. A Subaru Dealer will be more sympathetic to prodrive mods, while the dealers for another marque of car won't even know the difference and will probably either give you nothing at all, or deduct money.
Private buyers *may* go for a modded car, but you'll need to make sure you mention the PPP was an official modification.

I'd agree with Neil. Ive owned a couple of PPP's cars, and come trade in time they have retained £1000. So the PPP is not that expensive a mod in real terms.
IMHO the STI 7 is crying out for the PPP. My local milk float acclerates quicker at 60 mph in 6th than the STI . My guess is it will transform the car.

I have almost talked myself out of the PPP for my STi 7. Thought I wouldn't keep the car that long to get the benefit. How long do you intend to keep it ? If you get a couple of years fun out of it its worth it. If your like me and change your car every six months then I wouldn't bother.
P.S. Anyone want to buy a STi 7 ??

Jasey,
you wont really put any adverse stress on your engine with the PPP, the parts are designed to take much more power than 300bhp and 300lbs of torque
You should get the benefit of better performance and better resale value with a PPP'd car so it is worth doing and getting what the performance the car should have had in the first place

Chins has had more cars than me so he knows what I'm talking about.

That was I with tesco's and the zero increase Though I don't know how, the bloke was as shocked as I, but he spoke to the underwriters and they have the quote on file so as soon as I get it
Impatiently waiting for PPP, a trip to bath and back following a freelander between 70 and 80 has made me realise quite how bad it is in sixth at anything below 80, doesn't really get going till > 100

I think I will be like that to, drive it and want it!!
Other problem is I just spent £545 with TSL putting there de-cat centre and group N box on it, and you cant opt for no exhaust with the PPP

Neil,
Not that I'm aware of, I told them it was a prodrive performance pack, that it consisted replacement ECU and exhaust, was subaru sanctioned, dealer fitted and was a 15% power increase.
As I say, the bloke I was speaking to from tesco seemed almost as shocked as me, but he basically said it was so far up the scale there wasn't much further to go.
