Just got a Summons
#1
Can't beleive it. Got home last night, to discover I've got a 'ecking summons for Speeding!!
Now I knew I was speeding when the ociffer pulled me over and admitted my guilt, 94 on a dual carriageway. I thought better to swallow the 3 points and sixty squids than an hour or so chatting to the local JP.
occifer does the usual, quick chat in the sty. But he then goes to write me a ticket, when the 'ecker discovers that he has no tickets and I get a producer instead. I'll get the ticket in the post!!!
Well the ticket never arrives, gets me athinking maybe he won't report it as a Speed pig with no tickets won't go down to well. Bastid 5 months later the summons turns up, stating that i was doing blah blah blah, but the pig (starting to lose my temper her again) said I kept quiet , there was no reply from me!!!!! moth&r £"$%$
So where do I go from here!!! Do I get advice from a solictor, do I plead guilty and swallow the extra smackaroonys this will cost me or do I turn up in court and call him a bare face liar that does squiddgy things with sheep

You might well be better off pleading guilty by post if you don't want to challenge the charge. If you plead not guilty, definitely get a driving specialist solicitor. The courts will always believe a copper over a motorist so don't even bother trying to call him a liar.
Also, the copper himself doesn't decide if you get done or not. He simply files a report and a desk jockey back at the station/CPS decides whether or not to charge and what the charge will be. Doesn't excuse him running out of tickets and being economical with the truth though.

Get hold of the drivers survival guide. There is some info in there about what you can do if the sherrif runs out of tickets. I think you have to write to the court.

Has to be sent within 14 days - but by the sounds of it a verbal NIP was given at the scene.
My advice - plead guilt by post, if they ask to see you they are think of a disqual. (unlikely but possible) in which case THEN get a solicitor.

It would appear a verbal was given.
Unless you are on sure ground it is better to pay up and leave it at that.
The simple question is "Were you speeding" if the answer is 1 mph over limit question is answered
I fought a case and it cost me three times the amount, plus time off etc etc etc.
