Fizz,
I don't think so as all the changes are cosmetic so all the developement of STi7 PD springs, PHP and PPP will still fit the MY03. IMHO
Long live the bug eye

when they bring the new one out ,all the critics of the my01> might realise how good a car it really looks, going by all the fake etc spy shots of the new shape.

I know this is only my third post and will get slated for saying this, but in my opinion the bug eye is better looking anyway. The classic Scooby was looking a bit dated (still a fanatastic looking car though). I have to say that though cause I just bought an MY02 one!

Speaking as a classic owner, you shoudl here the number of times I get, "nice car mate looks much better than the new one".
Havign said that looks can now be sorted, the power to weight problem is still a problem though .

Like everything else, things move on and all cardesigns move on, so why cant subaru do the same, if we left everything "as it was", how are things going to improve, you never know, the shapes in years to come may even be better than we have now.
Autocar just released, got some nice pics of 03my, have a look yourself

i had a 98 and now have a my02.Both are great cars.I've got used to the new headlights and chunky stylin. as you say things move on and its all a matter of invidual taste.Viv la difference.
just think the classic will become a vintage, the my00> a classic and the 03 the fugly
My only gripe is subaru's complete lack of originality inside the car...grey grey and more grey + silver plastic ..thats where ford and the focus rs do so much better. imho.
any way time to get back on the crutches.

Yep I am all for moving on but why add 150kgs and do the styling and not the engine . If it had appeared with 250bhp as standard from day one then I think it would have sold really well.
People dont buy these cars because they look nice, they buy them to drive them which means a good chassis and plenty of power. Thats why they didnt sell as well as expected, a standard MY01 would not live with a MY00 in straight line performance and turbo push in the back ability. Yes the radical styling didnt help but thats no longer a problem as they can be tweaked. The MY03 IMHO should have 250bhp as standard, and a few of the styling tweaks which have appeared ie the headlamp conversions, better rear spoiler and rear lights and a growl. Come on its suppose to a be a rally rep

Navigator,
I was a MY99 now an Sti7 owner and tend to agree with you I feel if they'd adressed the Power to weight issue The Bugeye more Solid but heavier more of the Classic old school would have been entranced by the bugeye LOL.
After all nobody buys a Subaru for looks/paintwork or trim Its Power and Handling the Limited S202 (400 of)would convince most of the cars ability I would imagine that Prodrive are working on the simular UK verion for the P2 or perhaps the CMc 2,PS 2 or TM2.IMHO and no insider info
