Vandalised Headlight protectors
#1
Some scumbag has had a go at removing the headlight protectors from my 99 turbo but only succeeded in snapping it in half. I think it happened while I was parked in the multi-storey car park at Dixons HQ in Hemel Hempstead. Since the only car that these will fit is another Impreza it is even more annoying that a fellow scooby owner would do this. I suppose this is what happens when used-prices fall into the realm of MaxPower readers.

Are you sure it was deliberate? I had a crack in one of mine caused by a stone (which then proceeded to remove a chunk of paint from the bonnet and then make a crack in the windscreen). I just brushed past the headlamp to get to the front of the car and snapped the protector off

Gary,
I use that carpark most days (and have done for about 8 years) - the security firms and office managers attached to each of the offices around there are very vigilant, and there is very very rarely any trouble there any more. There is a permanent gypo camp nearby, which used to be a source of regular hassle, but pretty rare these days. There are regularly some pretty flash cars in there.
Doesn't help you, I know.

My dealership managed to break one of mine whilst it was in having a rear damper replaced.
Only when I got home did I notice it was hanging off - The clasp just under the bonnet was just a little shard of plastic left.
Needless to say I went back and got them to replace it!

Besides, they'd been given to me by the dealership as a gift by way of an apology...As I'd waited 11 months and 2 weeks for my car, only to have to tell them they'd forgotten to colour code it, when I went to pick it up.
Simple visual check vs. Invoice, anyone
Oh yeah, they'd neglected to fit the quickshift too I discovered months later!!! And had to force them to retro-fit.

I had a pedestrian who was arguing with a old man in a car thump then kick my car as I was passing by causing £968 damage
Instead of kicking the living Sh** out of him and getting put away for road rage I reported him to the nice police Who said "Get his name and address and we will see what we can do"
Next day found the bloke and asked for it and he threatened to give me a thrashing so rang bill and they arrested him
3 months on and nothing has happenen to the bloke, I was told it would not get to court if deemed not worthy
I wonder if I were to speed,no tax,no insurance or threaten a bobby and kicked the cr4p out of his police car nothing would happen to me
I hope I have ranted on to much as there doing a fine job catching motorist. Criminals who don't own or use a car won't get prosecuted.

Sorry state of affairs when things like this start happening. However Gary, instead of replacing the headlamp protectors, have a chat with your dealer and get the precut Armourfend for your headlights - costs about £35. It is practically invisible once fitted and is literally bullet proof - certainly can't be pulled off by theiving scumbags. You should also find that it gives a better light from your headlamps.
