Pink Grille Badges
#1
PS - The original hard resin black/green 'i' badge was rubbed down with wire wool a few months ago and painted, loads of times with Cerise airfix paint. It looked damn good until it went on the car, you could see the double sided pad through the badge. Hence me buying the badge above. I know its not the "original" badge at £30 from GGR, but I'd say its a damn good alternative from .

I now have withdrawal symptoms from not doing any mods for 3 months!
Since I bought the STi7 I said I would not do any mods 'till next year and I cant afford any at the moment anyway.
So thought I would treat the car to a Pink STi badge.
The question is do I go for 'stars' or the 'i'? Stupid question, but which is seen as being the best?
Graham Goode sell the 'i' for £29.78 and stars for £25.52, so I presume the 'i' badge is more exclusive. The star badge is now sold by Subaru dealers for only £19.99 (does this include VAT?)
Should I get the stars, or do the 'i's have it.
ps this is probably my worst post to date but Im bored and on my 4th pint of Stella!

dont think the scoobyparts ones are legit, but I could be wrong.
I wanted a stars one but graham goode said they could no longer get them, so went for the I badge
get the carbon side reflector replacements, then your really lookin good

The scoobyparts one doesnt look right and seems too cheap.
Seems to be a split opinion and I still cant decide.
Ive already got STi Carbon reflector strips and smoked side indicators.
Good tip about checking for MY01+

.....and whatever you order, make sure you specifically ask for a MY01> badge as it is a smaller one than the old shape
Cheers

Im assuming the Scoobyparts ones are replicas rather than the orginal STI ones that GGR provide (well mine came shrink wrapped with sti and a load of japanese writing on the bag). The price difference would substantiate this view.

Dave,I thought the MY01> badge is BIGGER than the classic shape badge rather than smaller!!
I can't remember, you may well be right, but the important thing is they are different sizes

I ordered a pink stars badge from Beechdale in Nottingham £19.95 less SIDC discount.
Have now bought a blue badge instead (better half thought it was too "Barbie" pink!) - so there is one in stock if you want it.

uxg,
You can have them any colour you like!
Just rub the paint off the back with wet and dry, then the badge is transparent except for the chrome stars. Then simply paint to the colour or colours of your prefferance.
Sounds a bit girly but get your other half to buy some nice (colour you like) nail varnish with a glitter effect looks cool and totally unique.
PS I did a glitter pink one,had to take it off tho,got to much stick, now I have a red one.
PPS make sure you put it back on the right way up,as I didnt, and drove round with it down side up for 3 weeks

Yoza LOL
Excellent idea. I could do them in red to match the seats or gold to match the wheels. Ahh I am getting excited (oh no I knew it was gonna happen I am turning into a sad, obsessed Scooby owner )
Right it's off to Boots with the missus for some Blushing Red No 7

Yoza: wet and dry? doesn't that leave minute scratches?
I did the same job with Wickes paintbrush cleaner soaked into an old J-cloth, and rubbed at it until the paint came off. Then I washed it in hot water and washing up liquid, dried it carefully, and sprayed it. (I happened to have some pink spray.) As has been stated, because you're painting the back of the badge, you can brush paint, and still achieve a perfect finish.
BTW: how many of you have colour-coded the "Subaru" letters in the centre of your wheel centre caps? Takes about 15 minutes, and looks way cool.
