Has anyone else noticed that the style of driving one finds on the roads can be linked to the type of car being driven? IE: Range Rover: slow, middle of the road (avoids nasty off-road type situations,dahling)MX5: leisurely, polite, top down (one must be seen, too much speed and I'll just be a bluuur..)Courier white van: schumacher-style confidence but human-CJD type co-ordination..

Scooby driver - bit mad (my car is better than anything and if you disagree I'll flame you to death or put you in one of my stereo type categories)

Not sure it's a stereotype, more a truth really - all people driving wearing a hat are a danger to themselves and others

Honest - check it out

Or.. British White Van touring car racing??
BWVTCR -O.K. that's silly!!
BUT: Too true about the "hats" -usually inside mid-eighties, burgundy Rovers or the ubiquitous Metro Feckin' eejuts.. just toured behind one @ 3 mph all the way up the Ind Est -as the council tip is @ the end! Popular destination for hats..

That'd be great - I'd enter a team! When I was a storeman for a kitchen installers I used to delight in getting the inside-rear wheel off the ground cornering our Luton-bodied Transit!

Having some 35 or so white vans & their courier drivers to hand, I might send them round to discuss your assumption regarding their ability, intelligence & co-ordination

Andy,
won't give you any abuse as that sounds like suzy in her 760 estate. Built like a tank, goes like a rocket, drinks like a pi$$ed fish Must say that it makes a nice mess of any magpies tha fly towards it

as for sterotypes, what about black WRX Wagon owners, with pimp tints, think it would be "gotta clean this thing once in a while, just to suprise people into thinking I've got a new car"

I must say that when I'm in the Micra with the wife, I feel I'm in the way of everyone, a few weeks ago a local t**t decided to give bumper to bumper, funnily enough I saw the same guy when driving the Scooby and decided to see how he liked it, he **** himself i think, or was it the abuse.

Moral of the story, we're not always driving the car we own.

Scooby driver - assumes he can leave anything behind because of 4wd and the fact that Colin McRae won the WRC in 1995. Becomes rather embarrased when someone else keeps up, and decides against pushing harder after being terrified by all these stories about lift-off oversteer.

Ok that's not everyone, but I think you'd be surprised how many Impreza drivers don't push their cars. Pretty similar to other sporty cars I would say (and I've seen an MX-5 leave behind a 911...admittedly it was sideways round half the corners and had a good driver - but just goes to show).

Steady on boys...
I'm still white van man, got my brand new 2.5 Turbo Diesel Transit with air con, CD, TV, arm rest etc etc.
:-)
Its true though, you just know youre in for a slow ride when you arrive behind a Corolla and theres the pair of straw hats on the back shelf, I spose they cant stand the G-forces of acceleration at that age though....

Dan

ps one day we will be that old <scary thought>

i may get flamed for this, but what the hell

vauxhall frontera drivers
invariably driven by podgy armed, saggy arsed housewives, driving their fat, pasty faced kids to school at 15mph, dinking the doors of every car they park next to. choking the roads at rush hour, when the fat sods should be walking.

50cc motorbikes
walk for ***** sake, its quicker!wobbling all over the road, their helmets are wider than their shoulders, riding a puny joke of a bike, like a deformed alien head freak. making me worry about knocking u off yer "bike", when i should be concentrating on the road ahead.

speed freak cyclists
riding down busy A roads, jesus, i wouldnt go out the house in the ridiculous outfits they wear. look like summat out of a gay bar, all that dodgy licra and 'funny' helmets(ooer)

metros and maestros
need i say more?
yeah, i do
for ***** sake, just get off the feckin road, you senile old *******. if yer too scared to drive, stop clogging the bl00dy roads. who the HELL has a shiny f plate car? i'll tell you who, blokes with shiny scalps, thats who. give up grandpa, stay at home and polish it.

f reg rolls royce drivers
whats the point lord snooty? lookin down yer feckin nose at me? my feckin upgrades are worth more than that lardy car you drive. no, i will not doff my cap,it aint the 19th century ,tosser

sorry if ive caused offence, just lambasting some of the petrol powered turds that ive trodden in over the past few weeks
