Cool

drank too much coffee last night and couldnt sleep, and thought of this.....

i may have my facts wrong, but dont audi own cosworth now? if this is so, why would VAG allow cosworth to work on the next ford cossie? why wouldnt they get cosworth to work on the next generation golf/a3 instead.

if this happened, then why dont ford get Prodrive to do the 4wd focus?
Prodrive now own tickford, who work on fords, eg racing puma. prodrive sorts fords btcc mondeos, so they appear to have some sort of relationship anyway.

so there you have it. imagine a car with the build quality of a vw, with a monster cossie lump under the bonnet.
or an already acclaimed ford hatchback, sorted once and for all by prodrive.

or is all this really unthinkable?

would anyone be interested ?

or wasnt it coffee i was drinking last night, but some 'strange brew'

Two different sides to Cosworth. Audi own one part, ford the other (IIRC) - Audi own 'Cosworth Engineering' (again IIRC) but Ford bought (I think) the name (a'la Rolls Royce/BMW) and some the design side??? (IIRC)

Bit vague really??

Prodrive have worked with Ford for some time - Mondeo BTCC has been run by Prodrive for years
