Sticky plates and silver skirts..
#1
Great Subject title, tho I say so myself!
I'm looking at removing my std number plate on my 94 WRX and replacing it with a stick on (?) version that will go on the bottom of my radiator intake opening (sorry, don't know the technical term) Is there any rules and regs that i'd be breaking or at least be looking out for? As I see that in the members gallery many have opted to keep the standard plates, and I'm thinking it will look better to have that opening uncovered.
As well as get more cooling to the Rad.
I would also like to paint the skirts and handles the same colour (Silver) and I was wondering what the best paint and method was to achieve good results by hand. Or do you reccomend a professional?
Appreciated, as always.

Hmm, Just asked the number platequestion @ my local Halfords - they do not do them, they reccomended that i look in the back of a classic car mag.
IMHO
As for the legality, post 74 cars i believe it has to be mounted flat to the front of the car, letter size/spacing - not sure but i have heard of someone being done for incorrect gaps between the letters.
I will however try my luck and get a stick on ft plate.
Update
Just spoken with Mike @ Scoobymania - try 0115 9501081, Thanks Mike!

Al, have you considered one of these?
. Email me If you would like more details, rob@mroscoobystyling.co.uk
As for the legalities, I have looked into this and the only thing that I could find, appart from the letter size and spacing issue, is that it must be clearly visible from the front. Doesnt matter where it is placed.
Cheers Rob.

Guys. Thanks for your quick responses!
Paul. I'm assuming that you've just ordered yours from Mike @ Scooby Mania. Regardless, I'll call him today, thanks for the info.
Andy and Bobfrog. Thanks i'll check out your leads as well.
Rob, thanks for the picture. Matter of taste I suppose but think it gives it a little more character and 'aggressiveness' to the front by opeing up that lovely space rather than filling it in with a bit of white plastic. Possibly better with the stick on as it follows the contour of the dam rather than sticking out on the sides. No criticism of yours by the way!!!!!
I'll be ordering my plates today.
