Mornin all.
Bit of a scoop for you all!
Just had Darren (DC911 on the blower) hes at the Banzai thrash today with his 22b along with a few others and Craig Hardman has just run his STI on the sprint test.
This has to be the fastest scoob in the UK.
These were the figures, and proper timing gear was used (racelogic gps gear, best on market):
0-60mph 3.7 seconds!
0-100 9.91
That is fffffing awesome. Well done Craig, and a great advert for NAM if I may say so myself. I went in this beast some time ago, and then it ripped my spleen out!

Ronnie,
I have been speaking to craig today, and also heard these results.
I thought it migth be nicer to le him do his own bragging but never mind
You forgot to mention that the run was uphill.
I must say, running 1.5 bar, anything slower should be dissapointing.
Don't go assuming it is the fastest thing in the country either. one thing craig will tell you, it has a lot more to come!
edited as I got the boost pressure wrong!

Just spoken to him again. More runs coming.
Run was into a headwind, and apparently is quite an uphill incline too. UK300 got 5.1 which is very nice to see! Runs still continuing, so there could be improvements!

I'm well glad to see that. I've been wondering how quick a 300 was I didn't realise they'd be that quick.

Not entirely sure it was a standard 300. Isnt that te one with replaced up and down pipes?
anyway, just in from craig via sms.
Air temp is apparently 28 degrees at the road side!
0 to 60 in 3.7
0 to 100 in 9.5
1/4 mile in 12.3 @ 113.5mph
I did ask about Nito, but all I have heard so far is that he can't get below 5 secs
No news on Darrens luck (or lack thereof) in the 22B .
Keep going mate.

Well done craig
Craig is running just over 1.5 bar.
Using Cossie pistons, arrow rods, hybrid IHI turbo. Electronics are apexi s-fac and avc-r. Usual air filter inlet pipe upgrade, along with 3" exhaust system.
It is an awesome car
J.
ps - Did I mention catch tank ?

Thanks for the comments
Was a great day - nice to meet some new faces.
Regarding my times, I was obviously very happy, but a little disappointed too....
I should've been running over 1.6+bar, but the actuator was not having any of it, so my peak boost during the day was 1.51. Not a major difference, but a difference nevertheless.
I tried to better the 0-60 time, but it was too warm and there was no point pushing it - was frustrating as the 0-100 and 1/4 miles came down but not the 0-60 - put half a dozen runs in between 3.7 and 3.89 - so it is consistent
Will be attending the Revs 0-60 day to see if theres any improvement.......
Does this make the car the fastest Officially tested one? Whatever, it's not too shabby

Absolutely brilliant day out, many thanx to Joe, can't wait for the mag to come out!
Pretty happy with my 4.41 0-60 and 11.77 to 100mph.
Bye Nito....
Worst thing about the Type RA is the fact it needs 3rd gear to get 60mph, so the 100mph figure is the one i was looking for.
Right, thats enough, Nitos picking us up in the Forester Companyt car and we're off for dinner!
(when you see the figures on the Forester that ran today, you'll all want one!)
Craigs car is simply AWESOME

Thats very impresive Craig. Pity you didnt run on the 0-60 at the RS day at dono sunday so i could compare the times.
I was getting 0-60 in 4.00 in the westie. Best of the day was a 500BHP RS200, that did 0-60 in 3.98. That was uphill and not very good grip.
What was the surface like Craig?

Very impressive Craig
My times were well down, which I put down to having seen too many boxes with stripped gears
Its an aweful lot of torque to put through two cogs with a mated face area about half the size of your thumb nail.

Well what a day. Very enjoyable, met loads of great people.
Craigs car was awsome, defo the fastest scoob ive seen to date.
Shame my clutch let go, slipped like buggery in the first 3 gears so aborted the runs in fear of not getting home. Real shame cos i was expecting some half decent times !!!
Still, all in all an excellent day, right wheres that new AP clutch!

John,
The surface wasn't too bad.
We did runs both ways - one way was fairly flat, the other way was uphill - got similar times both ways.
Couldn't quite get the balance between bogging down or wheelspin.
The wheelspin was impressive though
Not bad for a car running standard ecu, "vf22" turbo, 18s, aircon and all stereo gear in place

Those numbers look great. I wish my V6 STi came close.....
FYI down under we have a modified early model WRX running 9.8 second 1/4 mile times!!!!!!!!!
For those interested he runs a 2.2 litre BPM setup with mega boost( i think 30 psi or something).
