Question

HI there,

I have a W reg P1, which means its still under warranty. Spoken to the chief technician at my local dealer's and they will allow a different back box on the car, and that's it... No different downpipe/mid section ect...

I got a few pennies saved in the piggy bank and was wondering what to do first.

People say BRAKES, then EXHAUST....., GAUGES..ect

Which ones, Subaru / Prodrive, Scooby SPort ...??

What do we think......?

Your views would be appreciated.

Go to a different dealer mate!

Mine at Mill Lane, Basingstoke were happy to fit a Scoobysport downpipe on my W reg P1. No problems at all. They were concerned when I started talking about induction kits though.

The Downpipe adds so much more fun!

I would tend to agree about the dealer, as almost every dealer I know of has supplied and fitted Scoobysport parts, inc downpipe.

However, if you want to ensure that nothing invalidates your warranty, then you're limited to the P1 backbox upgrade, and the Alcon brake upgrade.

Unhappy

depends on your dealer-supposedly you can get boost spikes and detonation on altering downpipe and induction kit messes up maf sensor-there was a recent post re downpipes on p1s with mike wood and pete croney giving totally opposite views.in the end it is your choice and risk

The safest way to run a modified P1 is with the ECU remapped by good ole John Banks.
