Found this on Autotrader. Get in there quick folks .. there aren't many of those 1600cc STi Type-Rs around! Especially not these switchable 2wd/4wd ones that can return up to 40mpg and offer Group 10 insurance ...

And I thought the bottom had dropped out of the used Impreza market?

Hehe.

Hawkeye, I think the word you are searching for is 'original'

Why do people insist on charging the earth for (flame suit on) an ugly old model.

Well .. it does actually say £79,995 .. but combined with the other 'odd' things in the ad. I'd reckon that they made a mistake with the price!

£17,995 would be my guess ...

If you're gonna pay 80 grand for a motor would you really be bothered about it doing 40 to the gallon???

That's just plain dangerous. I mean. How is the air going to stay in with only 90% tyres????

Hawkeye, suppose your comments will now apply to the bugeye, it now being the 'old' model.

Unfortunately when you put your ad in Autotrader you put your reg in and their 'database' (for want of a better word) decides what car you have. You cannot edit it. Hence my 205GTi being called a "special", even though there was nothing particularly special about it. My sympathies to the vendor.

PS. If you want to find out what make of car is carrying a particular plate, just start down the 'place an advert" route, put in the appropriate reg, and all will be revealed (give or take the problems described in my first paragraph above).

Notice it doesn't say 'Turbo'? It's a bloody replica, quite obviously!

Having had a similar experience with the Trader as Speedking, he probably placed the add as describing it as a look-a-like, then the bright sparks decide which words to conveniently remove, so "Copy of Full Type R Spec" becomes "Full Type R Spec", or in my case "Full cloth sun roof" became "e/s/r", "Original Alpina Alloys" became "alloys" etc etc etc.

Cheers,

Deano
