Is there no going back?

Drove the trouble's MINI Cooper at the weekend, for the first time since getting the scoob in July. It was quite a strange experience:
Hmm, these seats are kinda supportive like a deck chair. Oh well, start up, what's that noise like a knackered air con unit? Oh, the engine - fair enough, off we go. Nice easy gear change, shame that it's about 20 yards between 1st and 2nd. Tootled around a bit and got it warmed up, approached the slip from the A406 to the M11, usually like to take this with plenty of gas so put my foot down, hmm nothing seems to be happening here, is something broken? And why have we assumed this funny leaning over stance? the wife has come to join me in the drivers seat, well that's awfully friendly of her.. she's saying something - *what the **** are you doing you moron, this isn't the bloody subaru you know*
oh, that's what the matter with it is...
Charlie.
