Removable Towbar for MY98
#1
Does anyone know if you can get one>? I don't really want a towbar on at all, but could do with one for towing a car trailer once a month.
I was hoping someone makes a detachable (swan-neck)one.. but if not, does anyone have a picture of a standard one fitted.... and suggest a supplier.
Thanks
Andy

I've got one on my MY00 that looks very similar to the photo - its a 'Brinks' towbar and the swan neck just pushes in & locates. I think it was getting on for £300 fitted but its very discrete and easy to use & it uses factory mountings so there's no drilling needed. Try Yellow Pages & ask em for Brink gear

I've got the standard Witter on mine ('98), I take the towball off when not in use, but 4 bolts would remove the entire back end and leave it fitted but completely invisible.
Did the electrics myself from the Subaru kit, 20 minutes.
One point to watch is that my Witter fouled the TSL single back box I've got, so my fitter (Witter Fitter?) made up a small bracket that lowers the exhaust by about 10 mm to keep it off the towbar.
