Well, was it worth it, YES YES YES !!
3 scoobies amongst 60 odd cars, unfortunately my head gasket went at Imola (on the track!) so I had to carry on in a hire car but the others finished & showed the flag well.
3 other cars retired at Imola, A BMW who killed its clutch, an evo who tried to kill the tyre wall & came second & another car bent its rear suspension on the tyre wall.
The scenery was stunning, the driving was awesome mixing with all different makes & abilities, chasing into Italy with a TVR Serbra & a 600 brake Supra made me realise 300 Horses aint enough although the Cerbra struggled on the very twisty bits.
Yep loads of speeding & other various tickets were collected by people. The Ferrari spyder did not make the finish & its rumoured to have been totalled, several others finished in hire cars so they also suffered mechanicals.
The hard shoulder also apears to be a way of overtaking by some but at 100+ !!!
Ive also read various threads knocking Cosworth drivers but to the guy who overtook a police car whilst it was chasing a Porshe, Nice one.
It was a great event mixing with loads of people from vastly differing backgrounds but who all love cars, to cruise at 120 with a Ferrari F40, A Countache & a 200 mph Audi estate (+ nitrous) & then sit down to dinner with them was quite an experience.
Everybody no matter what their car or ability could drive at their own pace & all could have won & the winner actually completed the last few stages with rental cars (knackered now) & those who wanted to go silly could
NEXT YEAR CANT COME SOON ENOUGH, I just need more horses & the jury is out on whether or not it will still be a Scoobie by then.

The Beemer did you proud, he will have his own story to tell
Their are some pictures on the web site www.cannonballruneurope.co.uk
The official ones come up under live, the others can be found in the forum as people are posting their own, also a few stories are apearing.
We had a film crew with us (scared a few of them) so hopefully later this year it will appear on the TV somewhere. Look out for the silver wagon with the big stuffed scoobie. Thanks to others the Scooby actually got lifts & did the whole route, he was in the TVR at 170+ when the crank went so he finished with Austin Powers in the Porsche.
Next year, CANT WAIT, how about some more scoobs

Elliot completed the whole of the cannonball with the aid of a bit of duck tape on the front, If you see him tell him I loved the colour, nice too see one looking nice and not in red. I was told last night the Ferrari spyder pulled out after ripping the bolts out of his diff on the road & it was another Ferrari that was possibly totalled but not sure which one

Yes the Countach was one of the cars, he had a damaged hose by the time he got to Italy, dropped into the factory & they sorted him out. Also impressed with the Ferrari dealer, One of the competitors limped in with a knackered clutch, the dealer stopped working on customers cars, told the owner to go for a coffee & come back in 2 hours, returned to find car with new clutch fitted & ready to go.
