Cool

i trust u have erm sympathetic neighbours mine claim mine is "too loud" even with silencer in!!! I also found with silencer in it does rattle a tad which sounds hideous & cheap so either get sum glass tape with adhesive on 2 wrap round outside of silencer &/or dont ever put silencer in it is satans work
Enjoy the rumble pop banging

Cheers Dunc, glad you like it!

Simon - Yours is a Nur Spec Back Box too, the bung should be in the end of the pipe held in by one bolt.

if u own a scooby you must have a bit of the URBAN TERROIST in you and the boxer engine sound is second only to farrari and tvr.
why not make it all that it can be.
i have heard some scoobys sound as good as tvr's
of corse some middle age people just don't get it or are just past it ooopps was that a step to far
(calling the non turbo slipper and pipe brigade)

Hmmm its on the car now so I cant be arsed to jack it up. Me and my mate Jon (scoob_dood) looked all over for a screw/bung when it arrived and did not find one. Below is a pic - anybody care to put a pointer on as to where exactly this bung is?

Alright guys, i cant find this bung/silencer that everyone goes on about...is it likely to be in or out when the exhaust comes from the factory coz mines fitted and sounds great, so i'm not really too bothered anyway, just wondered!!

Just checked, the bung only comes as part of the full system - sorry for the confusion!

Ah right that clears that one up - thought I was going mad as I looked over it with a fine tooth comb. Was expecting you lot to say I had to stick my arm inside the damn exhaust to pull it out or something lol

Cool

I've had a Blitz Nur spec R on my STi since August (thanks once again Jamie )and have enjoyed every minute of it. Originally I had the bung in but took it out after the first day as I could hear it rattling at low revs...its only held in by one bolt which is on the bottom side of the tail pipe.
It can be loud, and does turn heads but hey thats the point . It accentuates the flat four sound perfectly and seems loudest to me at around 100mph in sixth gear at 4,000rpm (all on my private road).
Luckily I have car friendly nieghbours, and even the policman next door is a biker so no problems there .
Wish I'd got one on my previous Impreza.

Mark

Wink

Group buy on non-moaning neighbours any1? Silencer is useful & rattling is easily overcome with sum heat proof tape but oh yeah baby the sound with it out makes me pitch a tent shame at 3" wide i cant even touch the sides

Question

I don't think there are any specific noise regulations (not as part of MOT anyway) - probably would come under public nuisance or something. I got pulled the other day after they saw me exiting a roundabout at a spirited pace which would have been fairly loud and they didn't comment on the exhaust (Nur Spec R).

Has anyone found their Nur Spec R has got quieter? I reckon mine has and have posted a thread here: http://www.scoobynet.co.uk/bbs/threa...ain&ForumID=11

It gets quieter, because you get use to it For everyone else, it's still loud as ****
Was up in scotland last weekend, came round a corner to see a car parked up in a lay-by, and the look of terror on this couples face as they were stood there takings scenery pics, the woman ran round to be back of the car as she probably thought I was a low flying jet or something
Does anyone notice the air pressure change as well, when say your partner comes home? I can't hear the car, but the air goes heavy like before a thunder storm, then a few secs later the wife comes roaring up the road!! Really weird, but cool

Red face

i think perceived gettin quieter thing maybe caused by yers ears gettin filled with blood just give em a rinse & if ear drum still in tact (unlikly) then it's party time again
