IMO, even though that was the first episode and I might be getting my hopes up prematurely, I loved it, I can't remember ever seeing a top gear that was as all round fun as that

Glad it's over..... Promised myeself that I'd watch it all the way through and not prejudge - but it was just so damned boring.
Clarkson in a studio with a sycophantic sidekick, Harry Enfield pretending to be his own father and an invited audience that looked like a geek's version of TFI Friday....
Maybe next week will be better. Not sure if I can be bothered to see.....

They must be using 'bittertubs pass' I think.
Good show, I liked it. Got that chap from the satallite channel car programme too.
There's been some discussion on running diesels on veg oil before, I'm sure ChrisP will do the honours

Brilliant. Just goes to show if you get the right presenters and let them do their own thing, what they're interested in, you get something the rest of us are interested in too.
Let's just hope the powers that be allow them to continue in the same vein.
Just for a little while there I didn't resent the licence fee.

if they think they can just stick JC in a big room full of 40 yr old max power fans and invite some clapped out old comedian along and call it a show.....well they are prob right judging by some of the stuff on this thread.
i thought it was cack... clarkson is a one trick pony, the fat bloke dealer is a fat bloke, other bloke is a chanel 5/ cable wannabe and wtf is the driver in black all about? is that "we blew our budget on clarckson so hired some bloke of the dogems to do the driving"

not too bad a start, according to a friend in the police you only have to go 156mph
nice cars presenters a bit dodgey-i thought the fat bloke was russell harty!!! and the other bloke is off men and motors, talk about dredging the barrel
in a 1 hour programme about half useful
they were definitely not day patients-i should know i was sitting with my patients while watching it!!

i lasted about 45 minutes then started surfing the net, boring, very very boring.
Any decent track car like a fast westie or caterham will anialate those "super cars" on that course. It wouldnt surprise me if a well driven STi RA could do the business too i didnt see any long straights?
Overall, disapointed, there was about 15 minutes content. Nice to know trying to sell an Impreza just got more dificult for the next 2 months.

Oh come on, stop being so flaming grown up all the time. I am not some max power nut by any means at all, I just found it to be good all round. If you solely want flat sensible car reviews, then read the magazines and watch some of the other car progs. I simply found it to be refreshing entertainment. It was good to actually laugh out loud properly to some very funny comments/things, rather than Quentin 'bloody' Wilson's (or whatever) attempts at humour..
You can hardly compare this to the cr@p that they have on Granada Men and Motors with that Reverend bloke etc..
Lighten up guys and GIRLS, it's merely entertainment and i like it
Cheers,
Nick

It was a little "stretched" to fill an hour, but a promising start. Did wonder why all those people were milling about while they were filming though, surely it's someone's job to clear the set?

Me i thought it was great.
Driven is absoulte sh1te at the moment, car sumo, WTF???
Personnelly id like to see an STI type whatever take on the Zonda.
Can't see it some how.
Don't get me wrong Scoobs are good but the Zonda would kill it IMHO. And so it should at £310000

A tricked out Caterham/Westie A la John's old missile would deffo be a good contender to go around that track and gets my vote
I really don't think that our workhorses would beat those, even with some of the top drivers on here.
Cheers,
Nick

not in the twisties it wouldnt
Bugger Mr Footlong got in the middle.
And yes, my westie would be ideal, 0-60 in 3.2s 0-100 in 7.5s, 0-155 in 17.5s and it went round corners ten times better than those lumps.
I vote Rocket Ronnie should give it a go, his skyline would make those overpriced nails look super slow!
