Scoob = Joke

Everytime I turn on the telly or open a magazine some journalist or other is having a pop at Subaru's in one way shape or another. They are even rippin the pi55 out of next years Impreza before it has been released.
I think Subaru have totally lost the plot with the current and next years verson they look rubbish and have lost the appeal instead of being a bit raw they seem to be getting rather fat and fluffy.
It seems that Subaru is fast becoming the butt of all automotive jokes A new kind of Skoda.
What are your opinions .

No I don't think they are a joke I think you should learn to read though.
.
I have stated something that is true and not my own opinion but as I said the Impreza seems to have gone from hero to zero over night
However I do think the latest bug eyed wonder is awful. But not as bad as subaru's marketing.
In what way is my post inflammatory ?

Roadtrip can you read What the hell has my post got to do with Ford's ?
****
Either you live in a cave are blind or deaf probably all three but definitely blind if you bought one of those bug eyed flop's. A delorean for the 21st century. I doubt they are drooling more like taking the pi55.

co55ie - perhaps you could provide one or two examples; including an account of what was said or printed and a brief explanation of why you believe the corresponding journo is having a pop.
Thanks in advance.

co55ie,
You post on a Subaru bbs about Subaru losing the plot and becoming fat and fluffy and you wonder what is inflamatory?
Anyway, I personally think that Subaru have realised they can be more mass market than they would have been able to with the pre MY01 models. They are also trying to penetrate the US.
I don't know what publications you are refering to, but everything I've read in Evo, the Saturday Telegraph & Sunday Times motoring section (and elsewhere) indicates to me that the Impreza is still well thought of - with a caveat that it is butt ugly. The latest Evo edition rates the 2nd best sports saloon as the STi Type UK - quote "The Impreza WRX STi Type UK is a less frantic Evo alternative (the Mitsubishi Evo VII) and just as effective." Hardly soft and fluffy eh?

the Ford bit was aimed at your user name co55ie you moron
it doesnt take much to realise that, but then with a name like yours its obvious you need your single brain cell to stay alive
the comments you make are very boring and born out of jealousy.
pick your rattle up and get back in your pram
Scoobynet is for Subaru enthusiasts so if you dont like them you know where to go

Numptie to be fair Top Gear tonight and most of the reviews when the bug-eye came out weren't exactly raving with praise.
Personally I don't give a flying **** what anyone else thinks,I enjoy mine and come trade in time it'll hopefully raise enough to put a fill of petrol in the new car!

Co55ie,
I think you have a point, although I wouldn't necessarily describe the vehicles in question as a joke.
The 'old age' Impreza in it's many forms was a hit from day one, it won rallies and 'turned the average driver into superhero' (or words to that effect(Autocar)) and there wasn't a motoring journo in the land with a bad word to say about them because they were such a performance bargain, bettered only by Mitsubishi's efforts, albeit with slightly harder core cars. (Evo issue 19 Evo6TME v STiV5)
Mitsubishi also gained a lot IMHO by recently agreeing to service imports but that's by the by.
The eagerly awaited 'new age' Impreza had a major design flaw in the eyes of many, it's looks. Personally I'm a bit peeved that they compromised the 5 door with tamer bodywork and smaller track. Also over the last couple of years, new performance 'bargains' have appeared, the CTR and Octavia RS to name but two and I think that of late, journo's arn't prepared to forgive the Impreza's shortcomings as easily as they used to.
As for becoming the new Skoda I disagree, Skoda re getting better all the time. The Golf GTi Mk1 was and still is a superb car in many respects and a lot of motoring guru's would place it in their top ten, can the same be said for the Golf's latest incarnation?
If anything Subaru are becoming a victim of their own sucess, the next VW perhaps?

From: From where I am standing I can see your house
Well I have just bought a bug eye STi, and I love it.
The front is not as agressive looking as the original (and possibly best?) but it is a better all round car and though the lights are not it's best feature, I can live with them - and that is what matters.
What I do not understand is why the driver of one performance car - assuming Co55ie drives a Cosworth -would want to deliberately set out to bait drivers of another performance car.
