Very funny.

I don't drive a Scooby, but I want one.

I do drive a VW & find most TT drivers to be arogant wangers who can't drive for ****e. Hairdressers car, same as Corrados & 'Roccos.

Scoobynet use to be a good bbs with every thread warrenting a read, now days it seems everything is centered around "I can beat this that etc until you end up killing yourself or some innocent bystander"

Is the Scoob the new "manracer" ?

Hehe nice one mate! I've done similar things recently just to see how my car performs against another. Sadly not much to contend around here though!

There was this one moped though...he had a massive V8 strapped in there..... lol only jokin!

Keep it real.

Scooby-Doo: as a newcomer I think this is a very balanced forum and have found people friendly and helpful. I put a post on numerous forums yesterday asking for help / advice. Other forums I got no reply or clever dick comments, here I got help and advice. This is a forum, like in ancient Rome, get it dude, people can post what they like as long as the moderators think it is suitable. That's the point of forums

And finally, excuse me, but why did you buy a Scooby if not to drive fast? I mean: A... I want a Scooby because it is a class looking car with style and poise or B... because it is a fast four wheel drive which is compact reliable & tuneable etc. Even though I don't (as yet) own one I think a vaste majority of owners and wanabees (like me) are going to laugh and say B.

fair enough Dug but bear in mind it could easily have been the 180BHP TT, not the 225 BHP one. As far as I know there are no visual differences between the 2, but there is a HUGE difference in performance.

Yup, the 225's have twin exhaust and 180's have one.

I'm embarrised to say that I had a job keeping up with a 225 one on the motorway once. Mind you, my Sti only had just over 1000 miles on the clock. !

yeah the 225 one has 2 pipes, the other has one which is the easiest way to tell the difference. The single piped ones are disgracefully slow i used to whup them in my pug 306, the 225 bhp ones were an even match but still pig slow. Now i got a scooby i cant say im concerned by a hairdresser in a TT lol

S13DUG,
I have done the same, I completely destroyed 1. it all started when he overtook me on the dual carriageway, my son encouraged me to catch up with him so i did. Then we drove normally until we came to the lights. we were at the front and he pulled over to the left. I heard his engine revving, and my son said "Just KICK HIS @SS!!" i absolutely destroyed him, when i hit 60mph he was far behind, so i slowed down let him overtake me. Then killed him upto 135mph, at which point i couldnt see him nemore, too far behind!!
btw have My01 with PPP and full scoobysport de-cat and Forge VTA
nice to know we all pick on these stupid TT's!!

Peelo,

Don't get me wrong I enjoy reading Scoobynet and love driving the car. I cannot see the point of post after post of how people have blown away cars. Maybe I'm just old but I prefer to enjoy the car without having to race anyone else on the road.

Good one Dug. I bet it was a company car he was driving. That is one of my pet hates business men who think they own the road.

I had the enjoyable task of playing at bruntingthorp a few weeks ago and one of the toys was 225 TT Coupe, it was the most uninteresting and safe feeling car i had the misfortune to drive, also after the 2 mile straight it only managed 139mph flat out and nothing would provoke oversteer (yes i had the ESP off!)

Conversly I took my own car, (98 2 door WRX) round at the end of the day, it got to the rev limiter in 5th (showed 165 on the speedo) with a 3/4 of a mile to go and came alive when turing in at speed and easily carried 20mph more on entry and 40mph on exit, was nicely balanced loved it and would recommend it to anyone and have no fears about any TT's!
