Was up to 2am last night stuck 40 miles from home 'cos the key-fob immobiliser clickything didn't work!! Noticed it when the car (MY99) didn't lock remotely, so locked it with the key-hole instead. When I came back I could not for life nor money deactivate the b*stard. Didn't know the PIN code so no joy there. Phoned Scooby assist, went to sleep, woke up 2 hrs later and it worked! Hows that? The battery was all OK. Its temperamental now and again, but that took the biscuit. Any ideas, or am I missing the obvious?
Wilster.

Ps. Bought the car 6 wks ago from dealer, no spare key-fob, dealer contacts previous owner, no joy, said this morning will order new one for me. Cheers. 40 notes. Would you pay?

Bad news mate. I wouldnt pay, would have insisted on 2 fobs when I bought it.

PIN - I too didnt know my PIN until a few weeks ago (havin discovered the keypad by accident after brushin it with hand and wonderin what that red light was - DOH!). Look at the service book to see where the car was bought and call em - I did that and Gilesgate Ltd of Hexam phoned me back within 10 minuites with the PIN. All they needed was the name of the original purchaser. Well worth doin....

Could be battery - enuf power to light the led isnt always enuf to send the signal, trust me...

Might be worth checking if there is a mobile phone mast near as I have had a similar problem with my bike alarm.. pushed it up the road and it worked fine!?!

Also I think I would insist the dealer paid for the keyfob but a bit difficult seeing as you have the car already etc..

Might be worth pointing out that it would be a good customer related thing to do and you continue to use them rather than just bu99er off up the road to another dealer.. JD Powers survey ring any bells?
