====(from Pistonheads website)===
Warren Pierson whizzed over to the NEC today to collect a new Lexus LS430 after winning the £50,000 car in the Top Trumps promotion that ran at Shell Service Stations.

Running between July 4 and September 4, the promotion gave customers of Shell's Optimax fuel the opportunity to collect Top Trumps cards and win the prize of a £50,000 car of their choice.

After receiving the keys on the Lexus stand from David Moss, Shell Retail Operations manager, Pierson joked: “Winning the car hasn't sunk in yet. If you give me the keys I think I'll just roll it right off the stand. I'll now have to look at some of the stands at the show for motor insurance.”

It had been a difficult decision for Pierson and his wife Alison, from Purley in Surrey, picking the car. “It was a challenge so I bought What Car? magazine and then test drove the Jaguar XK8, but after having the Lexus for a weekend, it won on luxury and gadgets - it was very impressive,” he said.

Cool

Shell Retail Operations manager
I didn't think employees were allowed to participate in company competitions.

Seems abit unfair that the retail operations manager of shell won.

My mistake I just re reread the message. What a muppet.

Exactly. I'd get something as close to 50k as possible and preferably with a huge waiting list.

If it's got a huge waiting list you wouldn't jump to the front of the queue to get it would ya?

So only 1 person won? Does this mean the Shell fleet now contains 4 nice new cars )

50k and he buys a lemon like that Bet he looks like Don Johnson or Burt Reynolds lol

Red face

Typical - just like those folk that win the lottery then either:

1. Dont change their life and keep the money in the bank, buying just a new semi and a Mondeo.

2. Blow it all within a year and are then homeless
