A friend of mine in the rally business has links with the manufacturer who makes the mudflaps for most of the WRC teams. The manufacturer will purchase a set of punches to accurately cut out the shape for road going flaps if I supply them with cardboard templates. I have downloaded the templates for the STi ones offered by prodrive and intend to use these (unless anyone has better ones). To make this option viable the manufacturer needs a minimum order of 10 complete sets (fronts and backs). The material is the same used by the WRC crews (Kaylan) but slightly thinner (3mm) although we could order thicker material if required. Available colours are Red, Blue and Black. I have yet to determine the exact cost but it is likely to be in the range of £75 + p&p.

If we can get a minimum of 10 firm orders then I will make further enquiries and firm up the price. Reply to this post and i'll coordinate from here

Many thanks

Rich

On a serious note you're better off buying the original not 'templates'. Majority of them are cheap and nasty and worth about 1 pound.
Group buy of ten=750 quid- Easy money for nothing

If its reputable, they'll send you the mudflaps first to make sure you're happy. Don't make the mistake of sending the money or cheque first.

Heed my warnings-friend did the same and got conned.

Too slow,

Megabusa has already sorted many folks on here with Mudflaps for the new age.

Scott, any idea on a delivery date, I want to get the car into the dealer to have something else sorted.

I put my name down on Megabusas group buy for the Classic flaps but he's not doing these yet (or are you?).
Megabusas do look like excellent value for money so I'd be interested to see what you can come up with - including fixings etc ?

It's not fair to hijack Rich's thread and talk about Megabusa's products? So I'll start a new one. See FAO Megabusa re-"classic" mudflaps. JohnD

Thanks guys for the initial responses. Ive also had a coupl eof e-mails as well. About 5 firmish interests so far. Let me clarify a couple of points. Mudflaps are from a reputable company. They are for classic shape only. Ive spoken to megabusa re what hes doing and he has said to go ahead. Ive also asked him for some details on the fixings he uses for his etc. I'm not out to make money out of this, just dont want to spend a small fortune on buying the Prodrive STi ones. The only way to make it worth my while (ie to get the templates cut) is to get about 10 people interested. I could just go and buy the material (about £70 a sheet) and cut them out myself but then obviously the finish would be compromised.

Drop me a line if your interested

Rich
