Just interested to hear what sort of 1/4 mile times I should be getting when I do the Top Speed Challenge this weekend.

UK MY98, Chipped to 1.2bar, had 274bhp before custom twin B/Box exhaust with decat center and itg filter.

So come on lets see your times (and mods)

I could make it in about 17 minutes (minus cig breaks) on a good pair of Adidas.

If your car has 274 bhp you should be well into the 13s and maybe hit a high 12. To answer the question how fast 1/4 mile, fast enough thanks .

Well running 1.2 before a decat id say probably as long as it takes the AA to recover you when your engine blows up lol!

Danny Boy,
I would expect early 14's or if you are very lucky seriously late 13's.
I really don't think a 12 second run is realistic in a uk car with 270 bhp but good luck all the way down the strip anyway.

Arron.

Post your times so all can see.

STI has 276 and they run mid to early 13s, UKs are lighter as well than a standard STI, so are UK horses smaller .

Thumbs up

I've got a MY00 euro turbo...same as your turbo.
Made a 12,72@110.6 a little while ago.

That is around 340-350 horsies according to the more knowledgeable fellas in that sort of racing - I'm happy with it.

With upped boost on an otherwise stock-ish car I'd expect a mid 13 at best with some manhandling.

A good 60-footer is what it's all about though, after that it's just a matter of changing gears and keeping the loud pedal down.

OK here goes..

Best 1/4 mile was 13.50 @ 100mph

And I really don't think I could've topped it. Everything felt perfect. My other two runs were 13.6's

Still very pleased as it made alot more powerful cars look silly. Like a Ferrari 355 and a 350 BHP Supra.

You can see a brief vid clip of my launch by right clicking and selecting "save target as" from the link below.

Mind you, it was on concrete. I assume the pod's surface should be better.

I would have though you should be able to dip into the very high 12s....

I run regular mid 13s, and that's a stage 1 2wd cossie......

"I Run 12.64 @ 112mph (93WRX roughly 300bhp at the time)"

How much did the car weigh...1100 kg's?
It's really weird that most 280-300 hp Imprezas, evo's and cossies around here only just manages 13 flat runs @ 100-ish...

US horses seems very small indeed...I'm starting to wonder if there's a reversed thing going on in the UK.
